I have to vote MCW on a balance of probability.

At the moment she has taken less than two years to get to within sight of the finish post;

Our Smiler, has taken four and a bit years to go around the houses; find the starting box; get to the end of the first furlong; decide he's in the wrong race; start over; decide he's on the wrong horse; start over again; etc etc etc.

MCW, is then currently ahead on points; she got Mod 1 in a oner; and that was only two months ago; while she got her theory in April '13, so she still has ten months before she has to start over, and has already had two attempts at Mod 2, and plenty of time to get many more fail attempts in if needed.

Smiler, on the other hand, has barely twelve weeks to get his Mod 2 passed, or its all the way down the long snake, throw a six to start again, and by current track record, I don't so much think its a race against MCW but against that dead-line.

Remember, Smiler, first entered the race to get his 33bhp restricted licence before the 3rd directive rules came in... got as far as Mod 1 on that... then gave up; and post 3rd dir, started over, re-doing his theory, to do A2.... almost two years on from that, he's back where he was two years ago, going for >33... and my bet, if I was to make one, based on his track record so far, is that he might get one crack at Mod 2 in before his certs expire, and fail it. Some crisis or cock-up, will occur, and he either wont be able to afford, or wont be able to get a test date / School Bike before deadline; at that point he'll shrug; decide it's not worth re-doing everything over to get A2, and that he'll ride it out on L's until he can do DAS... and this time next summer be re-doing his CBT.... Wish him the best of luck, and HOPE that I'm wrong.... but that's the most likely scenario I can see... while for MCW.. she has just gone a bit to pot under pressure, and if she doesn't get it 3rd time lucky, she'll get it on the forth go, purely on the 'odds'.

MCW is into crochet, I believe, so she can knock up some warm woolies for Satan.

Eh, it'll be MCW. That's just a confidence issue.

That's the first time I've read a Teffers post from start to finish without actually giving up.

HOWEVER ... I find it quite worrying that I read it in the style of John McCririck.

She is a perfectly nice lady who doesn't often post in Random Banter any more, due to being castigated by the self-appointed post-quality police for posting "too many" times, or about too inane a subject ... and so spends more time in her local sub-forum than here where the words "random" and "banter" really have no meaning if it must relate to posts which are not that random or that inane.

Wow - talk about damning with faint praise. Although it would work well on a headstone - "Here lieth MCW - she was a perfectly nice lady". Not bad as an epitaph, all things considered. Mr. Green

I'll stick £20 on smiler.

The fact that if I lose said £20 I'll break his legs should be more than enough motivation.

Is either of the contestants actually booked in for a Mod 2, or could this unanswered for months/years?

MCW all the way. All she needs to to is sort her nerves out - she's good to go.

Smiler however, does seem to have a bit of a chequered history with bikes and tests...

MCW for my vote. She already drives, has a god head on her shoulders and is a bit of a dark horse.

Smiler is a nice lad, but when it comes to aptitude and bikes there is a large gap to close.

I voted for MCW as I can't see Mod 2 succesion being a barrier Samuel J will ever avoid crashing in to overcome.

he doesn't sound like that in real life, more like a non Brummy accented Jasper Carrott. Very Happy

my vote went to MCW, mostly after Tef told me what Smiler's handlebars were like when Smiler visited him and Snowie. Shocked
