Posted: 20:47 - 25 Jun 2014 Post subject: Aldi Kevlar Jeans, a quick review. |
 |
|
I purchased these from aldi a few month ago for the grand price of £39.99. I was a bit skeptical at first mainly as the kevlar is not woven throughout the jeans but is only in critical places.
They come with knee armour which at first feels in completely the wrong place but once on the bike it sits perfectly.
They are very very comfy but off the bike they are a little long, on the bike in a crouch position they are perfect.

Today I managed to crash (not my bike thankfully) test them, a low side at 30mph left me skidding along on my right side and then my arse.
The jeans held up very well indeed, only one seam has burst, the denim only just wore through to the kevlar and I was left unmarked. They held up better than my Hood jeans did at a much lower speed crash.
Would I buy them again? Hell yes. I would rate them 8/10. The only downside to me is they faded after 1 wash and the stitching on the hem of the bottom of one leg was poor.
I'm glad I bought 2 pairs!! ____________________ Quietly and consistently taking the piss.

Can you buy these any time or do they only come in stock for promotions?

thanks for this - i've bought a pair of them and as my bikes not on the road yet, i'm yet to use them. although i did try them on and sit on the bike and can agree with what you say about them being a bit long off the bike - but good on the bike.
more to the point, Glad you are okay ____________________ Current: Kawasaki ZL600 Eliminator
