Hi all. Are these oil cooler fins too far gone to repair or should I just straighten them up as best I can?

Get a pair of needle-nose tweezers (NOT pliers), pass them through (one arm on each side of each fin) and squeeze. Painstakingly tedious but doable.

Had a go straightening a few jus to see how much of a ball ache it will be and they started falling off. Will this be a problem? Should it still do it's job if a small few come off? Cheers.

Not ideal.
I would say if only a few fall of and it doesn't leak you will be OK. If you end up with large gaps, like grannies teeth then its cooling ability will be impaired...better to source annuverun'

I assume only the bent bits are breaking off, leaving a section behind? In which case I'd not worry about it, considering the percentage in the picture that need straightening is small.

I've straightened them as best I could. The core looks good and not too many have fallen out. I'll take more pics.

How do they look now? Not much more I can do with them. Should be able to zoom in on the pics. This iPhone is s*** for taking pics!

That'll be fine. Trust me, I used to make radiator cores for a living, they're generally well over-specced so a little bit of damage like that shouldn't hurt.

The fins are there to increase the surface area of the tubes so as long as air can pass through the core it'll work ok whatever shape they've ended up.

Yes it's going black! Hope to fit it as soon as I can find a cover for it.
