Hi folks, have just bought a 1965 Honda C200 it's a 98cc pushrod engine so fairly simple.
Anyone got one on here?
I'm looking for info on rear indicators especially as they seem to have been removed.
Anyone got access to a parts book?
Cheers

You sure they had indicators?

Seems to depend on the market.
This seems to have holes for the rears. I'll need to look when it arrives at the wiring and switchgear.

Yep, back ones on the guard, front seem to be mounted on the handlebars.

Can't add to help but it looks like an interesting bike.
David Silver lists parts.

Also James May has/had one.

I will be interested in seeing this back on the road.

Thumbs Up

Picked it up today. Carb will need a good going over but I got it running on easy start.
I cant beleive how little rust there is on it! 20 years in a shed in this country and it would be scrap.
Clutch seems to be slipping a bit so some new springs are likely to be in order. Also missing a grease nipple from one side of the forks.

Need to find a chain guard/case to fit and look up the front mudguard. They still make the front mudguards (pattern) in Malaysia, front headlight mount needs a look at too as it has a piece cracked.

Well, I got her up and running today. Engine sounds fine.
I did discover that the rear sprocket carrier is cracked which is damned annoying.
Struggling to track one down so far but I need to find out if any other models are common to it.
Might take the gamble and order a pattern chaincase from Thailand, not payday yet though.

Some great stuff there! A few things I could use. Not seen that site before. Have you had things from it before? What is the postage from Japan like?
I'm liking the following!
n129955439 headlight surround £16 (can get one from Thailand for £29 posted so it really depends on postage)
j271352202 chain case top £11
j271352206 Sprocket carrier £10
u60829688 baffle £10

You need a Japanese postal address to bid but I've got an agent out there that does it for me for $5 to $10 US each item depending on price. Cost of post depends on what it is but I wait until I have a good sized box with a mix of light/bulky items and small heavy ones to save on post.To give you an idea, something like a top fairing from a mid to big bike costs about £50 on its own, I've just had 25KG in 2 parcels sent and it cost me about £210. There's also post in Japan to add in....that's usually about £5 to £8 per item depending on size, they don't use post offices for parcels over there...it's all couriers. It aint cheap but I only get stuff I can't get anywhere else.....mainly Grey Import parts and 80s two-stroke stuff. I'm one of those weirdos that gets all excited at the sight of No Longer Available NOS parts Embarassed[/quote]

Thanks for that Vincent. I'm not panicking quite yet but that looks like a brilliant fall back.
Thanks for the offer and can I get back to you if I cant get something more "local"?

update time.
Have found a new chaincase in the states. They've just restored a C200 and have used one on there's so hopefully I can get it to fit, also ordered bolts as they were cheeap from the same place and a rubber plug.
Still looking for a sprocket carrier but hopefully that'll be sorted as I've provisionally been offered one from a member on another site.
Stripped the exhaust off for a good clean and managed to get a load of black marks off of it; still lots of marks/gauges on it so not quite a pretty as I would have liked. I discovered that it was missing the downpipe to muffler gasket so have ordered one of them too.
Whilst the back wheel was off I removed the tyre which was perished and decided this afternoon to polish things up a bit, hopefully you can see which half I've polished here:
https://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx231/DaveD_06/IMG_0341_zpsf3fcef56.jpg

Came up really well. Better than my old camera can show. Not perfect but pretty damn good.
https://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx231/DaveD_06/IMG_0343_zps66b6cc9e.jpg
Also cleaned up the brake plate a bit, before:
https://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx231/DaveD_06/IMG_0346_zps84b2edf6.jpg
and after
https://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx231/DaveD_06/IMG_0348_zps51a090bc.jpg

Some big scratches to get out if I'm going to make it perfect but again, it'll do for MOT etc.
Also deglazed both the inside of the hub and the brake shoes.
So far this tiddler has been a pleasure to work on; no seized bolts etc.
I've started to T-Cut the frame and it is coming up nicely. Rear shock chrome has come up well too.
Have repaired the headlight mount but not really happy with it so I've ordered a new pattern one and a front mudguard from Thailand. A gamble but we'll see have it looks on arrival.

Hi Dave,

I bought my C200 1963 last January.
This « bike » is very rare in France
Here are the pictures (before)

Mine has turn signals.
2 holes on the handlbar ( Turn signals bought last week, I'm waiting for them) for front.
On the pics bellow, you can see the rear indicators on rear mudguard.
