Firstly thanks all, it's all very well explaining things to Mrs Mantzy but she's not a biker so doesn't know what i'm talking about or how bikes react under certain situations.
| Quote: | This will sound like a stupid question but aside from surprise what did it feel like sliding over tarmac at xmph? Smooth/rough |
Rough, painful though strangely satisfying in a really strange way.
| Quote: | Fingers crossed theres no internals damaged |
They did an ultrasound thing while i was high on gas at the hospital and said i was all okay, though to be honest my piss is a little redder than usual, but that might just be the drugs.
| Quote: | ...taking the fecking gloves back to HG... |
Planing on calling them as I agree, they shouldn't have come apart like that. May do same with the jacket. Suprisingly, the £14 jeans have about the same amount of damage as the £120 jacket. Road rash, though painful, heals eventully.
If youy want to know what my thumb looks like, i'll take a piccie next week when i change the bandages but be ready as it'll look nasty!
Went to look at bike. It looks worse than i think it is. The right clip-on is snapped, as has the rear brake lever and the front brake lever. The right side fairing is being held togetrher by the foam internals. The right indicator is non-existant, nor is the screen. The top fairing is slightly worn. The tank and tail fairings are untouched. The Motrax crash bungs didn't work! The front wheel is chipped and tyre gouged. The custom can is now even more uniquely styled! Most worryingly, the end of the fork is worn and the engine casing is worn through. The mechanic said there was no metal actually in the engine so he didn't think it was TOO buggered and i've seen a replacement casing on ebay. Thankfully he frame is fine. He was worried the engine was running without oil in it and I said it probably stalled anyway as I was in 3rd/4th when it went down. What you guys think? Will be getting a full breakdown of broken parts in the next couple of days.
Quick question, do J1/J2 ZX-6R panels fit G2's? Or even C1/C2 ZX-9Rs? The fairings look very similar. If they do, it should be easy to get running again.

Edit: I went and got some knitting needles today. Broken my left arm before so know the drill. Also stocked up on plastic bags for showers! ____________________ Current Bikes: 2010 Triumph Sprint ST 1050

If you are getting the insurance people in, get the custom can taken off ASAP. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Glad to hear your ok. I had an accident before, I didn't replay it in my head except for a few days. You get over it eventually... but I never forgot the accident, I always have an image of what happened in my head. Once again, glad your ok . ____________________ Kawasaki ZZR 400 | K5 GSX-R 600 |

It does sound like your kit did a particularly crap job of protecting you.
I came off last Sunday at a not unsimilar speed and didn't get any injuries apart from a twisted ankle. My leather jeans got a bit ripped up, and my lid's also a write-off, but my gloves were fine - no ripped stitching and those jeans were 3 years old and had been previously crashed in. Jacket had a couple scuffs (fleece I was wearing over the top didn't fare so well).
I'd avoid that denim jacket stuff in future |

Unlucky for the fall mate. Good that you still want to climb back on the bike though, good stuff! ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP

| Quote: | Could have been worse, least i didn't hit it - but then could have claimed on their insurance...i'm only tpft |
Sorry to here you can't claim, exactly same as when I came off my Hornet, dam bint swapped lanes at lower speed too!
As for claiming, I did hit this person and I was told the law states that if you hit someone in the rear it's automatically your fault, as you were too close. But I told the insurance investigators and police she pulled out, so they said it was 50/50 and paid neither of us.
she suffered a lens dropping off her car and had to bend down to put it back on. I lost my bike, smashed up, everything snapped, engine block sheared, helmet, leather jacket, jeans, etc, landed on my head at 50mph and went down the road on my helmet.
My visor also popped out. It got ran over lots but only got lightly scratched. They are indestructable!
Hope you recover soon! ____________________ TL1000R Parts For Sale! |

Ouch, glad you're in one piece and the bike is mostly in one piece.
I am collecting later a G2 ZX6R (photo). I know the fairings are green, but what parts are you in need of? |

Not as bad as it looks, you just now have an ugly baby, won't cost too much to have it road worthy. |

Looks nasty, but at 70 on a dual carriageway it could've been a lot worse I guess. Hope it's not too expensive getting it all fixed.
Oh and green and red... |
