Sure I read a while ago about an insurance company giving out a free gopro or something?! Do they really exist? Mines gonna be due soon so be good if someone did stuff like gopro

You can generally get cashback somewhere - e.g. sign up to Quidco and then find an insurer through there. (E.g. Carole Nash would give you £25 cashback)

Any company that gives out freebies covers the cost of them with an elevated premium. There are no 'freebies', it's just another name for a con.

Insurers, giving shit away?

Mate, the only thing they're giving away is a free dry bum fuck with each policy.

God help you if you crash as well.

No companies give stuff away without the intention of making the price of it back and some.

You can, however, benefit from the fact that whatever they give away is VAT free and often writable off against tax. So to you a go pro costs £400 to them it's 10% off for bulk purchase! another 20% for VAT which makes about £288 assuming they can't write it of against tax. Knock off another 20% if they can.

So... If there's something you really want being 'given away' add up the price difference see whether you can buy it yourself cheaper using another service and then weight up your options.

But on gocompare, MCE's price doesn't change when I get quotes with mods declared...aslong as it isn't a turbo/supercharger

I got free breakdown cover on my MCE policy this week, was the cheapest on the comparison website too.

The last few years I was with Carol Nash, which included "free" European breakdown cover, this year carol Nash wanted £350+ to renew my policy, another broker wanted £100+ without breakdown cover. ADAC Euro breakdown cover is 80 euro+ so I ditched Carol Nash in favour of separate policies, and halving the cost

With MCE you can get passes for extra's at BSB like getting into pit walks before the general public, a chance to have a pillion ride round the track and lots of other bits ( I haven't got one myself, but went to Snetterton with some friends and they all had them)
