Hi all,

I am struggling to remove a powevalve actuator bearing from my clutch cover. The bearing seems slightly gritty to me and its the last thing to sort before running the rebuilt engine. I've tried heating several times it just doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

I've got a few questions;

* What sort of temprature do you normally heat a clutch cover or the maximum without damaging anything?

* What are the chances of one of these bearings going? If it should fail what sort of damage is likely to occur, as the bearing on the crankcase side of the actuator has the same 'gritty' feel.

* I also noticed that a mystery component (It looks like a gear shaft internal seal) was in the old bits I got back. If this has been removed what will be the consequences of running the engine?

Am I worrying about nothing?

Any input appreciated.

Also can anyone tell me how many/where the o rings are supposed to be on shaft. No diagrams seem to be specific in pictures there is 3 grooves on shaft but only 2 o rings & my other one has only the top grooved ring on

I have attached a couple of photos hope theyre decent enough basically the 3rd one i mentioned is a groove right at the bottom of shaft so seems it would be inside the crankcase, i ordered the two o rings but the larger one (8.8mm i think) is closest to impeller and smaller one doesnt seem big enough to fit onto shaft past this groove right at the bottom and its baffling me Laughing
The engine was rebuilt by a supposed reputable company but guy works from home and im coming across a few schoolboy errors to say the least. The 8.8mm one i have fitted onto the highest groove as this is where it seemed to be before & on my spare shaft before there was just the one on both shafts Shocked thanks
