Looking for some info of peoples experiences taking kids to dirt tracks on their bikes.

We bought the wee fella a wee mini moto dirt bike for his Christmas and now that's he's getting used to it, and a little more confident with it, we're going to be looking around for some dirt tracks in our area.

Was just wondering if anyone else had their kids at these kind of tracks and what the think of them, i.e. is it good for the kids to be around other kids on bikes, what are the rules regarding sizes of bikes, etc?

Cheers

2 Shocked Bloody hell, that is young - good on your mum!

The wee fella's still pretty timid on the bike, needs a bit of egging on now and again, he's not completely into it yet, but there were big improvements today.

We just take him to old unused football pitches and there's a few hills that surround them, until today, he's just been going round in circles on the pitches but doesn't throttle it very much and doesn't really like the bumps, but today I dared him to do the hills and navigate through the treees, all for a MacDonalds!!! Laughing

And he did it - and he did it again, and again! He loved it and was the most enthusiastic that we've seen him on the bike!

I just think that if we get him to a track with other kids that it might egg him on a bit more and encourage him more!

Probably!

We got him this for Christmas and at the beginning, the first couple of times we took him out on it we were like, sh1t, don't think he likes this! His heart wasn't in it if you know what I mean!

But he was like that when we were first teaching him to go his first push-bike and you should see him on that now! Jeeeez!!! Rolling Eyes

Not sure if it has a restrictor in it - we don't actually know all that much about bikes to be honest, but if it is restricted, it will stay that way for a while I think - he still hasn't opened it right up! Rolling Eyes
