 |
|
Looking for some info of peoples experiences taking kids to dirt tracks on their bikes.
We bought the wee fella a wee mini moto dirt bike for his Christmas and now that's he's getting used to it, and a little more confident with it, we're going to be looking around for some dirt tracks in our area.
Was just wondering if anyone else had their kids at these kind of tracks and what the think of them, i.e. is it good for the kids to be around other kids on bikes, what are the rules regarding sizes of bikes, etc?
Cheers

Well, when I was 2, my Mum bought me a Yamaha PeeWee 50 and I loved it to peices, I used to beg her to take me out on it so top mum for doing so, he'll love you for it. We always went to old carparks and old fields but I did join this motorcross thing but it wasn't serious, wasn't races, was just on the side of a big track below 125cc bikes I believe... It was great fun... I suggest just looking around for your local tracks and asking them... I presume they'd have a dummy track also for little kiddies. Good luck. |

2 Bloody hell, that is young - good on your mum!
The wee fella's still pretty timid on the bike, needs a bit of egging on now and again, he's not completely into it yet, but there were big improvements today.
We just take him to old unused football pitches and there's a few hills that surround them, until today, he's just been going round in circles on the pitches but doesn't throttle it very much and doesn't really like the bumps, but today I dared him to do the hills and navigate through the treees, all for a MacDonalds!!!
And he did it - and he did it again, and again! He loved it and was the most enthusiastic that we've seen him on the bike!
I just think that if we get him to a track with other kids that it might egg him on a bit more and encourage him more! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10

Probably!
We got him this for Christmas and at the beginning, the first couple of times we took him out on it we were like, sh1t, don't think he likes this! His heart wasn't in it if you know what I mean!
But he was like that when we were first teaching him to go his first push-bike and you should see him on that now! Jeeeez!!! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10

Yeah, the reason my mum got me mine was because I always sat down watching bikes on TV, I LOVED watching bikes and monster trucks... She got me a battery bike first which was crap and broke and then the 50, it had a restrictor on it (does yours?) in the throttle, my step dad said I was going along at a small speed saying this is crap because of the restrictor and they took it out within the first 30 minutes. 6 years later, it got stolen. |

Not sure if it has a restrictor in it - we don't actually know all that much about bikes to be honest, but if it is restricted, it will stay that way for a while I think - he still hasn't opened it right up! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10
