I have decided to buy a Micron Delta Full System for my GPZ500S, basically cos the is a cheap downpipe set going on ebay.

I was wonder what modifications will I need to do to the bike, I am aware I may need to rejet the bike and get a less restrictive air filter.

But I don't know how to go about this.

Any advise will be greatly received.

Regards

Craig.

In my oppinion that is a case of LITE (leave it to experts). Take it in and let someone who knows exactly what they are doing and has the proper equipment to check it do the setting up.

Plug chops on a GPZ500s are so awkward as to be not worth the effort as you would need to undo the fairing and remove the tank every time.

Hi

Also worth noting that on a CV carbed bike a plug chop is fairly useless except on full throttle with full revs.

All the best

Why, is there some other way of riding a GPZ500s that I was hitherto unaware of? Laughing

All the best

I would think so, although maybe just a case of a slightly bigger main jet. Depends on how much more freely the pipe breathes.

The guys here may be able to help you better (GPZ owners club forum):

Hi

I would say you would probably need to do some playing with the jets. Whether you actually have to change any jets or can just get away with fiddling with the idle mixture and moving the needle jet I do not know.

On a CV carb the main jet is only going to be relevant on full throttle at high revs. Anywhere else it will just be dependent on the needle jet. Needle jets come in lots of different shapes.

Basically you need someone with a dyno with an exhaust gas analyser and the skill to use it properly.

All the best

Keith
