In my oppinion that is a case of LITE (leave it to experts). Take it in and let someone who knows exactly what they are doing and has the proper equipment to check it do the setting up.
Plug chops on a GPZ500s are so awkward as to be not worth the effort as you would need to undo the fairing and remove the tank every time. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

Hi
I would say you would probably need to do some playing with the jets. Whether you actually have to change any jets or can just get away with fiddling with the idle mixture and moving the needle jet I do not know.
On a CV carb the main jet is only going to be relevant on full throttle at high revs. Anywhere else it will just be dependent on the needle jet. Needle jets come in lots of different shapes.
Basically you need someone with a dyno with an exhaust gas analyser and the skill to use it properly.
All the best
