I picked up an NC21 track bike yesterday which has had this subframe modified (read: bodged) to fit. It clearly isn't an NC21 subframe and I was told it's from an RS250 but it's not that either.
What's interesting is that the lower mounts are forward-facing rather than the original subframe that's bolted on parallel to the frame. The frame doesn't appear to have the original subframe lower mounts on it.

Any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

I would say its home made. Doesn't look like anything I've ever seen. Is it steel?

It's steel. I'm not sure if it's homebrew as most of the welding is up to a professional standard but some of it is really crap, for example where two nuts have been welded on to fit the (homebrew) seat unit.

It looks like this when fitted.

Paddy, it works....sort of. The seat unit sits on top of the battery cage and there are two M6 nuts welded to the subframe to hold it on, so it flaps about a bit. There are two holes drilled through the subframe to fit the seat bolts, which has no place to hook at the front, and there's no rear tank mount so that moves about too. It's all a bit dodge!

I think I'll just have to cut and weld bits to get it all to fit.

The reason I'm trying to identify it is to see if there's a half decent race seat unit I can buy!

I'll video the SV, yours will look like a solid piece of work!

However, that looks tasty and semi RS125-esque

Original shares the upper footpeg bolt as the lower mount.

Ok cheers kramdra Very Happy

It's not nearly as tasty as it looks....the wiring is an absolute mess. It has switchgear from a different bike, the l/h switchgear is missing altogether and plenty of electrical components are missing plugs where they've been butchered to fit the loom it came with....which is from a different Honda! The clocks are missing too.

I've trial-fitted an NC21 loom and it all seems to be correct, I'm just waiting for a fuse box to try and get it going.

If anyone has any of the following, please drop me a PM!

Clocks
Switchgear (both sides)
Upper swingarm chain guide (the rubber/plastic thing that the chain runs over)
Reg/rec
Spare 4/6 pin Honda connectors (including mini pin type)

Fixed a local yout's bike. A Cagiva Mito. Normally I don't have anything to do with 'em but the kid is something of a major player 'on the ends, innit' & he promised me 'some fat buds, innit.' So I done it. Stripped off the placcy & there was your subframe...
