Sidi b2 gore tex or TCX S race gore tex???

I've done loads of googling and got my next boot choice down to these two, (see title of thread).

I'm still a little uncertain which I should pick. They both read well. I read as many reviews as I can find and the only difference being fit.

The Sidi reviews mention that this is a narrow boot whilst the TCX fits a wider foot. This information would be great if all online reviews and posts said the same thing but some mention they have a wide foot and the sidi's are a perfect fit straight from the box. Unfortunately soliciting much confusion.

I'd like to here your opinions on which you'd go for or recommend.

I've phoned the shops in the city and they don't have stock of both in my size so can't try on first. I'd hate to ask for the stores to order in for me because I can find the boots up to £60 cheaper online.

Until you try some on, you are never going to know.

You could always order online and return under the DSR.

Problem is unless people buy from the high street, we will soon have no stores left and end up having to order online and send stuff back....

If the difference in price was only in the region of a tenner or two then I'd consider ordering through the shops. One pair of boots are £60 cheaper whilst the other being £90. That's a lot to a family of four.

The saving on the dearer option isn't far off a decent top box.

Anyway,

If any Sidi B2 GTX wearers on here can tell me if they had to go up a size and if that was for length or width the info would be very much appreciated.

It's really worth going and trying them on somewhere, even if it means taking a bit of a trip to somewhere with a bigger shop. It's expensive stuff, it might as well be right.

For what it's worth, I have the TCX and the size is right in the middle of what I'd usually take - one above size in shoes, one below size in trainers.
I have narrow feet but don't feel like my feet are floating around in them or anything, I have room for thick woolly winter socks but that's about it, pretty good fit really. I can't remember why I didn't buy the Sidi.

Ordering a couple of different pairs and posting back the ones you don't want is always an option.

I have the b2's and they are a tight fit. I get numb feet after a few hours riding so I have to either stop for a minute or keep my feet moving about on the pegs. I also can't wear thick socks. I don't have this problem with any of my other size 10 boots.

I find the tcx boots fit perfectly,I also have a pair of sidi race boots and the fit is just a tad worse than the tcx but still ok.

I've got a pair of Sidi's and a pair of TCX's, both fit fine. I've also got wide feet and don't have a problem with the Sidi's. In fact, I'd say they're the more comfortable of the two and aren't as heavy as the TCX's. I tend to use them as a summer boot basically, as they're cooler and have air vents in that you can open or close, which can be bliss on a very hot day.

The TCX's state that they're waterproof (they're not really though), are made of a thicker leather and are generally sturdier but, I've also had issues with the zips on them. My first pair were exchanged after around 6 months because of a broken zip and my current pair both now have busted zips, which happened after around a year of use. For this reason alone, I personally wouldn't buy TCX boots again.

Well I've went for sidi's.

The thing that swade it for me were the amount of reviews that listed sidi's that were anything from 5-8 years old.

TCX owners rarely commented on the age of boots unless it was to complain about some fault or dislike. Admittedly there are far fewer TCX reviews, possibly because the boot was released in 2010 (I could be wrong but I did find a reference to it).

I find my tcx wp boots fully waterproof and living up here in the sticks they see nothing but rain,and lots of it.
