Sounds like a sale of goods act not fit for purpose with regards the bearings collapsing.
Is there anything in the service book or manual related to the rear wheel / bearings other than chain tension?
if not then who serviced it and when is not relevant to the issue.
with regards the wheels, dealer is obviously a cunt. ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

I can only offer a suggestion on said dealership. Don't go there again to buy stuff. It's obvious he doesn't care about the customer, just the sales, hence lying about the wheels. |

Do you have any proof of purchase?
could politely talk to Rieju and explain you'd been promised by the dealer that you'd receive the benefit of an offer they, the manufacturer, were running at the time. You have unfortunately missed out due to the dealer's inaction on sending the warranty card in, which is a piety as it was one of the selling points that finalised your decision to buy one of their products, would they see fit to make things right?
however, you also have a warranty claim which I would suggest taking up straight with Rieju themselves as you feel you can no longer trust the dealer based on the following:
1) the afore-mentioned lack of action on sending the warranty card in resulting in you missing out on the offer that persuaded you to choose the Rieju over other bikes
2) the fact that the dealer handed over the keys and let your son (who's bike you are discussing) prior to registering the vehicle with the DVLA, causing him to un-knowingly be riding round on an un-registered bike for a few weeks.
3) you bought yourself a bike of a different make from this dealer and are unable to source parts from the manufacturer as the other manufacturer won't deal direct with customers unless they have received the warranty card.
Due to the above issues, you no longer feel that you can trust the dealer to take due care when assessing a repair or act in a timely manner regarding a warranty issue.
Unfortunately, on [date] the rear bearings collapsed, causing this to happen which in turn caused this injury, I feel this is something that should not happen on a bike so new. Looking at the bike I noticed….
In light of the issues with the dealer, would you be willing to review this issue direct with myself under warranty?
or something along those lines - citizens advice can help with putting letters together to send in and advise on sale of goods act, fit for purpose etc but don't expect them to know everything about everything ____________________ Looking to pass your CBT / Bike tests in Bury Lancashire? try www.focusridertraining.co.uk Would recommend.

Part of that first service is from memory a full nut and bolt check, check of all the bearings etc whereby any issues like the aforementioned wheel bearings would start to show themselves. First service should always be done by the dealer. A wheel bearing doesn't just collapse out of nowhere - there would have been multiple warnings, odd noises, play etc long before a full collapse of both bearings that rider ought to have picked up on.
Also, possibly caused an accident? Either he binned it, or he diddn't. If he diddn't and just had a little wobble it's a very good lesson in not ignoring odd noises from your motorcycle.
The wheels thing is a dealer issue.
The offer was put on by Rieju that if you bought the bike with knobblies, you got the SM wheels free, or a free upgrade kit including spare plastics, a DEP pipe and a sump guard. The dealers leaflets clearly date that, hence it's not Rieju's problem as its them that's promised the extra wheels.
The registration thing is again, a dealer issue but there's not much that can be done about this tbh unless you have a time machine.
Your fork seal is a warranty issue, that's worth taking up with the dealer. They will fix this.
Best course of action IMO;
* Go to dealer.
* Dont touch the fork seal or the wheel bearings.
* Complain about all of this, complain about the registration issues.
* Mention you have spoken to people on various forums (dealerships do not like the idea of being named and shamed on forums)
* Demand to speak to the manager, request some form of compensation (New lid, new jacket, nice big lock, or a free service or something?) Idk, see what you can get out of them.
* If they then don't rectify the issues, respond with a suitable freebie and do a lot of arse kissing then see trading standards/lawyers etc
* If it comes to lawyers, name and shame on here. See the Victor Devine thread(s) https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=bikechatforums+victor+devine
As for 'whats a Rieju' - Decent little bikes. Built with loads of quality components in spain, and running Yamaha's YZF-R125 engine, but kitted out with a carb. The only four stroke on the market that can be de-restricted, and as such the most powerful. Winner of MCN's 125 of the year award last year. ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.
