Hoping someone can help me with this.

Noticed on my commute to work today my speedo isnt working, not registering speed or clocking miles. Cant tell if the bulbs gone too as its daylight & not had time to check it over properly.

Am I correct in assuming its the cable that runs from behind the speedo down to the bottom of the forks? Gave that a bit of a shove each end to make sure neither end had come away etc.

It was working fine last night, wasn't this morning. Any suggestions?

2011 Honda CBF125.

The cable inner has most likely snapped - very common and you need to replace the entire cable, which is usually around £10 or so.

Cheers for the quick response. How much you reckon it'll cost to have a new one fitted?
Is there any way I can check thats actually whats happened?

It's easy enough to do yourself. If you disconnect the cable at both ends and remove it, twist the inner at one end and if it doesn't turn at the other end it's snapped inside.

Okay ill have a go on my lunchbreak. Im guessing its as simple as ordering a new cable and replacing the old one via the same method?

Also it looks like im gonna have to remove the half-fairing to get behind the speedo? Unless theres an easier way? Sorry for being a mongoloid but this is very much terra incognito for me, in case you couldnt tell.
