I used this one when I went to Germany first time. I never had to actually use them so no idea how good they are. The next time I went I had insurance with Carole Nash which includes European breakdown cover. ____________________

Simple.
Good maintenance, change excessively worn parts BEFORE you go, change them back to use them up when you get back. This includes electronics and maybe upgrading them to parts which fail less often Reg/recs there are various kinds.
Doubling up on common component failures. My old CBR6 had 2 reg/rec the original honda and a ZX6R one. My current CBR has two ZX6R reg recs.
Crash protectors.
A handful of limp back home spares, a cable repair kit, a split link, handful of cable ties. Araldite. Tin snips. Stab through tyre repair kit.
Then when you go don't ride to your absolute limits. So you don't crash in the first place. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. I know there are phone numbers posted in previous threads regards this and other members do have policies with them so this may be untrue, has anyone actually had to use them that has a UK based policy ? There rates are very good and like I say the feedback is very good, could be something worth pushing for if it suits.
My bike is less than 2yrs old so it is covered by Honda for breakdowns in the UK so don't need a annual policy, strangely though only VFR's are covered by the 2yr cover in Europe |
Did you contact them through twitter?
There has been talk of no cover for non german residents so I asked one of their sales people when I was in Germany and she said i was no problem.
You are the member, not the vehicle so age is not an issue. |
Sure did, https://twitter.com/ADAC/status/499999827783323649 although like you say if you pursue it further by other means you may have more joy ____________________ RM125, TS125, X5 200, X7 250, RD 350 LC ------- 25yrs later cbr600f (sold) - cbr1000rr (2014) |
