Highsided yesterday on the way home from work. I was fine, bent handlebars and snapped brake lever, which would have been spared if I still had the handguards fitted. Anyway, rode home.
Today on the way to work something at the backend felt squirmy. I checked the wheel alignment marks and they are still fine and the tyre pressures were fine, but it feels like I may have bent something else. Maybe the sub-frame
I just wondered if a high side could cause the back wheel to buckle with the sudden change of direction and how would I check it, it seems straight enough when rotating it round off the floor.
Any help on the wobblynessnessness of the backend? ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

Cheers guys, had a look round the bike and I can't see anything glaringly obviously wrong with it. Could bent handlebars cause weirdness or is it just brain AIDs?
It could well be brainAIDs because I went for a hoon today and touched pegs on a roundabout, granted I meant to, I went round it a few times to try and see if I could replicate the highside. Maybe learn from it. I couldn't replicate it, it just wasn't damp enough.
Maybe I should swap wheels back to the road set with the Conti-Escapes on instead of using these

On another note, I snapped the swinging arm completely on my MT5 once and didn't notice until I took it for MOT. I wondered why the right hand shock kept coming loose, I just carried a 14mm spanner around with me and tightened it every now and then. It had corroded through and then me jumping curbs/speed-bumps/humpback Bridges/stuff and off-roading on it eventually ripped it two, I'd guess, so I like to think that this would be quite serious if I didn't notice a swinging arm being held on by the shocks. ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

whip the wheel off and get a garage to spin it on a balancer to check for a buckle. its free and takes 2 seconds to get a difinative answer and will put your mind at ease
my GSXR front wheel was buckled to hell, sent it off too motoliner. got it back within 36 hours, perfectly straight like it was brand new
although depending on the bike may be cheaper to buy another rim. unfortunately for my gsxr the rim was £500! ____________________ KLX 300r |
