FX 650 Vigor Crankshaft

I have just found out that my bikes Big end has gone. It's locking up the whole engine, and having stripped down the top end I can now feel the resistance in the bearing.
Can anyone tell me the best/cheapest/most practical repair for this problem?
I am willing and able to take the motor apart and replace the crank.
I would like advise on where to go for parts, machine shop services or replacement crank/con rod.

It's a surprisingly rare Honda 650 single, also known as the SLR650. The guy who bailed Bonny out at the BBQ rides one.
To be honest with you, I'd be looking at pulling the dead bearings out, and measuring them up for replacement.

You should be able to get a generic bearing from a proper bearing manufacturer, as opposed to paying over the odds for one from Honda.

David Silver Spares is the traditional go-to for Honda parts. For Machine shop work we'd have to know whereabouts you are to be able to make an intelligent suggestion.

The slr650, Dominator and the newer FMX650 thingy use the same engine if the damage is terminal and you are after a new engine. I think the XR650L is also the same motor.

XBR500/GB500TT motor will also fit but the gearchange will be inverted.

I have not removed the crankshaft yet. I was trying to get an idea of where to go when its out.
I can only expect the journal to be in very bad shape from the feel of it.
I am in the Aylesbury area of Bucks/Herts.

Would like to find a solution as the motor has only 14 k miles and the rest seems in very good condition.
