 |
|
Hi,
Currently rebuilding a Honda NSR 125 for my cousin. I've got the engine apart here and I'm looking to order a new piston.
I've read different stories in different places about what size piston ect ect.
There are 5 different pistons to choose from, A B C D & E.
This corresponds to a letter stamped on the barrel. I guess that the barrel I have is a D type by what is stamped below the exhaust port?

If this is the case, when ordering pistons through wemoto they only offer a 54mm and oversized ones which doesn't correspond with the 53.961mm for a D type
Any help would be much appreciated! ____________________ Current: 01' Bandit 600, 92' Goose 350

Hi
The piston sizes Honda list are for accurate clearance. Wemoto are listing over size pistons (which is a bit strange as the NSR has a plated bore so cannot be rebored, unless modified with a steel liner fitted). All the sizes Honda list are equivalent to the standard piston size (ie, aftermarket they are not caring about the exact clearance).
All the best
