swapped my tank last night

clean carbs again as the tank sealent (petseal ultra) had started to dissolve an what ever it touched it left an 'orrible stacky tacky mess...

so set mixture screws to 1.5 times out refitted carbs

bike ran as good as a bandit can run, this morning started riding to work an it felt like it was running on 2 or 3, power was mega lumpy then i hit a pot hole an must have dislodged a throttle cable (push cable i think) as the throttle went slack but would still power the bike

this is the odd bit - the bike started running on 4 again?

coincidence or would a badly fitted cable cause poor running? or is witchcraft at play?

Could be anything like a bit of the petseal shit left in there and blocking the float needle or somewhere else that got knocked free when you hit the pothole. As you've just been messing with the carbs it's probably the push cable not locating properly.

Why is petseal still present if tank is mint.

All that goes in my tank is petrol, when it gets rusty or leaks, I'll buy a new tank, purely as its hassle Laughing

the tank that was originally on the bike was holed, so was treated to a bit of electrolysis, welded an then given a slap of petseal

when the above failed, i just replaced the tank...which admitting i just should have at the beginning an saved my self a quid or three....

See, profit Laughing

Just replace the fuel lines if you haven't done so and grab a small in line filter.
