Hello everyone. Just a quick question. Is the Throttle body sync really needed (I've got an FZ6 2005 with 22000 miles on it) and is the one in the link a decent one?
Thanks.

it good to keep them in sync, and should always be done after a clean, as for it being a good one - dunno but you can build them

https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=how+to+make+a+carb+balancer

there are some in that search that are made from fish tank tubing and some water with food dye.

I have a cheap set of gauges in box under the bed, they have saved me a few quid over the years

I find it easier reading the 'column' style gauges (like the one you've shown) rather than the dial type, but if you are going to get one then it's probably better to make sure that it is the 4 column variety, which makes use easy on any 2/4 cylinder - that pic is very misleading because the ad is for a two column gauge but the pic shows four rubber hook up tubes as per the 4 column variety, must catch out a good few people!!!

The older mercury type are the best (IMHO) but getting harder to find nowadays

definitely splash out and get the 4 column one. I'd order it from morgan themselves and go for the carry case too as it's pretty good quality and nice to have.

I know it's one of these tools that you can make yourself, but it's one of the things you only buy once and it's nice to have the proper tool.

I've never done to be honest. I'm not even sure if it's needed cause the bike goes, but it could be an invenstment for the furture.

I have one of those and one of the four column protune versions, as said before, both work ok but personally I prefer reading the column type - it's fairly obvious looking at the 4 columns to gauge when something's off, the dial type above have several different measurements around them, which tends to give a cluttered look and makes reading the exact measurement that you're after trickier (but not much) than just looking at 4 columns next to each other.

Edit: bottom of page one on the link reminded me of another reason why I like the carbtune, see for yourself... https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=263096
