Hi all just after a few suggestions please iv got a honda ns125 which was not running quite right and would cut out when it got warm ... The engine stated to get a bit noisy so iv rebuilt all top end and now it fires first kick and will sit there ticking over like a dream will rev up and ride fine soon as it starts to get warm tho it starts to pop and fart even had a few back fires out of it then won't run agin until it's cooled down abit has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this so far iv changed piston kit little end bearing ... New carb ... New Coil ht lead and cap and new plug also new rectifier ..... Only other thing I can think of is ignition pick up or cdi unit but iv
Carried out wiring checks to these as per manual and they all check out fine unless there's abit of resistance when things are getting warmer ???

Hi

The only time I have had similar issues on a bike it has been ignition related.

As such I would suggest sticking a strobe light on it and checking if the ignition timing does anything strange as it gets warm.

All the best

Hi

While you can probably do bodges (say, using an offset woodruff key) to change the timing I would say that if the timing is going out when hot then the cdi is faulty and any timing changes could be quite random.

Not saying this is the problem, but something to check first and (assuming you have a timing light) should be easy to check.

All the best

Keith
