I've rarely forgotten to cancel a hand signal.
I am convinced that BMW 3 button self cancelling indicators were specifically designed as a eugenics test to weed out the fat thumbed and slow minded. First you play the "which thumb, what level, oops, horn, dammit, cancelled them..." game, then they auto-cancel at the precise instant that you actually begin the turn that you were signalling.

You can fit a buzzer to the output of the indicator relay, and wire the earth side through the contacts of a NC relay which is activated by the brake lamp circuit.
That way, it doesn't buzz whilst you are waiting to turn at junctions with the brakes on (annoying) but starts when you move off. ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

After a few months it becomes a habit - I'll often be sat at traffic lights, indicator on, and the habit will kick in and I'll cancel the indicator, only to realise I haven't actually pulled away yet so i have to flick it back on ____________________ 00 Honda VFR800 | 09 Aprilia Tuono Factory

FWIW my old GT550 has self cancelling indicators.
Cancels after a distance has been travelled.
Some found them a pain, I rather liked.
Only hassle is coming off motorway. Put on at 3 stripped distance sign, had to put back on again just before 1 strip distance sign and then if turning left at top of slip road. ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Glad I am not the only one then.
Yeah, I am trying to get in the habit of just pressing it after every junction.
Thank you for all the comments |

I found that I forgot occasionally on my cbt. I forgot occasionally when I rode my 125 on my own. But as soon as I got on a bigger bike, I never forgot. Weird eh? ____________________ Past: Honda CBF125

That is brilliant and I am looking to get 800ST, and I have to say this is the main selling point for me, cannot stress how many times I am forgetting my indicators, language aside I think I love Germans ____________________ Adrian Monk: Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not...
