I'm not expecting many visitors. By the time I get home most of the little kiddies have been walked round with their mums and/or dads.

That only leaves the teenagers demanding money with menaces, which can be dealt with.

I did point out that at this time of year the wife and her sisters (the coven as I lovingly refer to them) need to MOT their broomsticks. Apparently this comment was not well received

My youngest was pretty much oblivious to trick or treat. The missus has explained it all to her and now we have a witches outfit at the ready and a cupboard that makes me wish I had bought shares in Haribo.

I have made it clear that if the missus takes her out then she's not to knock on our door because I am not answering it.

I just ignore the door. Why turn the lights out it's not like you HAVE to answer the door when it rings.

Funnily enough I've never had anyone banging on the window saying "I know you're there, I can see you" or anything similar, I leave the TV on etc., people knock, maybe knock a second time then bog off.

Seeing as it's my daughter's birthday, we've always decorated the house more than we do at Christmas (complete with fog machine in the front yard, remote controlled ghoul etc)...and had a large supply of sweets'n'stuff.
Needless to say our house was rather popular with the local sprogs!

They'll be disappointed this year though as it's the daughter's 21st so we're all going out!
