Is there not an option that can be added where people can select to remove their account from the forum?

In the mean time could you please delete my account as I no longer wish to be a member of this forum.

Sorry if there is already a way to do this but I couldn't find it.

Thanks. Smile

Just stop posting? Your account will not be deleted. You could try sending a PM to Rogerborg, he's the only admin I've seen online. Wink

Wait, you're flouncing over an unsuccessful torch endorsement? Day-to-day interactions with people must be an emotional rollercoaster for you if that was enough to make you want to bail.

I can ban you if you REALLY want me to and directly request me to do so by PM.

I'm not deleting your account because it turns threads you've posted in into nonsense.

As others have said. Simply stopping posting and never logging on again is the easy way to stop posting. Nobody else is going to be using your account.

You could mark loads of random posts from people who disagree with you as random or redundant before you go, just to prove that you are a massive bell end.

Oh, you've already done that.

With regards to users wanting their accounts deleted and posts deleted too.

How do forums like this, have to fall in line with the "Right to be forgotten"?

My understanding is that content is not taken down following such a request, it just doesn't show up on search engines. The online content remains where it is unless the owner of said content decides to take it down themself or is ordered to because it is in some way defamatory or illegal.

So say Tony Blair wanted people to forget about this picture:
https://www.leftfutures.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/image002-e1350256532688.jpg

He could request google do not return it when people do a search using his name. The picture itself would however remain online.

Thanks for that.

Quite open to abuse then I guess? If a Mr Vincent Candelin, or Mr Coolncomfy decided to put a request in for stuff not to show up under the right to be forgotten, that's not right? Surely there's a mechanism to stop that?

It's exactly the type of replies above that make this forum like it is. Bunch of childeren.

Sadly there are quite a few decent posters on here who are here for what I imagine the forum was initially intended.

All the gobshites on here I can guarantee are not half as mouthy face to face.

Wankers.

Thanks Stinkwheel I will PM for banning. Many thanks.

Korn should have a thread listing all the threads which have been removed from Google under the right to be forgotten. Sad
