It seems these days, if you happen to be walking about on your own, regardless of your sex - you're probably a paedo...

Thinking so if you also ride a motorcycle does society now mark you as one of those drug dealing 1% outlaw biker gang members - like in that tv documentary series "Sons of Anarchy" (or is it Devil's Ride).

So they will not allow single adults into the place because they might or might not be a peado but randy roger the local kiddy fiddler (not yet caught by police) can bring his 7 year old neighbour (parents think hes a nice guy) to the place without a head turned. Makes stacks of sense.

Like I said to my missus some years ago "If you see a bloke walking in a park or on common ground with a dog, nobody takes any notice, but if the bloke's on his own without the dog everyone thinks 'What's he up to, must be a nonce, I'll keep my eye on him'". It's a sad world we have come to.

IIRC used as a plot device in one of the tv detective shows ages ago (Morse, Midsomer Murders, whatever I forget).

Guy (or woman) swinging a dog lead walking in countryside occasionally calling out for non-existent dog, no one sees, or gives 2nd thought for.

There will be long term consequences of raising a generation of children who have been taught that any adult they are not related to probably wants to interfere with, hurt or steal them.

It is a well established FACT, not a statistic, that a child is more likely to be abused/harmed by a parent or family member than a random stranger. Stranger attacks get a lot of media coverage, but they are a small proportion of the overall number of child abuse cases.

So, if kids are taught that other adults are lusting after or a threat to them, what will this mean in terms of their future relationships and behaviour? How can they ever function in a society of strangers? They can never leave Mummy & Daddy because everyone else out there is a threat to them.

And while I'm on, what's with the culture of us individually and on a daily basis having to prove that we are NOT

Money launderers
Kiddy fiddlers
Fraudsters
Abusers of public employees/doctors receptionists/post office staff
Insurance defrauders
Tax avoiders
Someone else

What happened to the principle of innocent till proved guilty?

Answers on a postcard please

Mr. Green

Judging from highly subjective personal experience, I have found that certain mothers feel the need to keep offspring childlike and at home well into adulthood as they don't want an empty nest.

That looks like a new link for the statement. Doesn't mention anything in the Rules of Admission below...

And just how many entertainers have been charged with peado offences Rolling Eyes

So do they ensure that staff are never left alone with children......

Interesting to note that in rules of admission. Makes no mention of no single adults....

TBH. I have never heard of ANY tourist attraction BANNING single adults from entering.

Realistically the proportion of child molesters is tiny. There are two problems that cause issues though.

The first is that parents don't like to take responsibility for their children any more. The effect of this is that if a child was touched up or kidnapped by a paedophile the parents would sue the living shit out of the place they were in. (I deal with a similar mentality at work, though more health and safety than paedophiles). The falconry place are just covering their backs by not allowing single adults through.

The second is that lots of people are retarded. People don't like to stop and think. People love a bandwagon. People love a label. People read stories such as this, and notice that lots of public venues don't allow single adults, and they start a sort of hysteria. When they notice somewhere does allow single adults they question why. When they notice a single adult in a a park their mind springs to that story they read in the mail. They don't stop to think about the actual numbers.

Variants of those two points are what causes lots of issues, including the suing culture we are rapidly catching up to the yanky doodles on, and the whole health and safety gone mad nature of life we are subjected to.

I can feel a rant coming on so I'll stop here! Evil or Very Mad

Jimmy Savile had the perfect disguise for a paedo, he disguised himself as a paedo and nobody saw him.

That could be because there wasn't anything untoward to see.

The following is a TRUE story. A couple of months ago, my cousin was at a Wacky Warehouse soft play with his adult daughter, her boyfriend and their little 'un. A member of staff asked them leave because a woman had complained because the boyfriend "looked" like a paedo. WTF? They left without saying anything as they didn't want to cause a scene, something which I wouldn't have done.
Someone has been taking "Brass Eye" far too seriously.
