Imo, we ought to scrap the NHS, forgein aid and all child benifits.
People then stop having kids they can't afford, the hardworking are taxed less and can live better lives, the degenerate scum that cant afford medical insurance will die off instead of breeding, thus there are less rude theiving little shits on the streets with no proper upbringing & with the government given lots of extra money various other services can be improved upon (for example the roads perhaps?) and less speed cameras are required to generate income for the state.
Everyone wins.

The NHS deals with over 1 million patients every 36 hours.
Thats 243,494,722.22 a year.
Do you honestly expect no fuck ups at all considering the volume they're dealing with?
Needs alot of work but we're very lucky to have it. |

Far as i'm aware, labour started the privatisation of the NHS with their Pfi deals, but yet, the torys get the stick for it, labour know this so can get away with murder and do what they want while the potatoes that vote anything with a labour Rosette on, blame the torys for everything.
The NHS needs a serious sort out, throwing a couple extra billion at it every year in real terms only puts off the inevitable. same goes for freezing energy prices, once they've been unfrozen, who has to take the flack? probably the torys, lazy policy nothing but. |
Try not to portray the torys as some sort of heros, they are corrupt scum just like the rest of them. labour, lib dem, ukip etc |

There are two serious flaws in your argument.
First, you seem to have fundamentally misunderstood what the word "privatise" means. From dictionary.com -
to transfer (the production of goods or services) from the public sector of an economy into private ownership and operation
The NHS is not being privatised, no serious political party has ever suggested such a thing, and even UKIP seem to have rolled back from a brief flirtation with the idea. What is happening, and has been happening for years under labour and conservative governments is that the publicly owned and funded NHS is buying services in from private or charitable sector providers.
This is not the same thing as privatisation. It is common practice right across government and indeed industry to buy goods and services in from other organisations. As a rough parallel, if you need some work doing on your bike you can choose to do it yourself, or you can choose to pay someone else to do it for you. If you choose the latter, you're not "selling off" your bike, you're just paying someone to do some work. Contracts last for a limited time (usually 5-7 years), at which point the NHS can choose to bring the service back in-house, stop it entirely or pay someone else to do it.
Second, what is so wrong with companies or charities providing NHS services anyway? Your local GP is a private contractor and has been since long before the NHS ever existed. The NHS has always bought drugs, scanners, equipment etc from private companies so why is it so wrong when it buys a scanning service?
If I need a scan / operation etc, I couldn't give a stuff whether the person doing it is employed directly by the state or by a company / charity which the state is paying to provide the service. I care whether they are any good at it, and how long I have to wait.
With regards to TTIP, why would you not want american providers to be able to provide NHS services? At the moment any provider in the EU can do so, why not american ones too? If the best CT scanning provider happens to come from Texas, then damned right I want them working for my local NHS.
If I were a cynical person I might think that the Labour party's new-found opposition to private involvement in the NHS had something to do with the fact that Unite (the union who appointed Ed Miliband and who pay Labour's bills) know that their power is diluted if everyone providing services isn't employed by the public sector.
Steve. |

Hi,
sick of hearing folk slate the NHS, if you don't want to use it dont.
NI contributions? not exactly a lot is it? (for what you get)
So when you have an accident & need helicopters, doctors, surgeons, nurses etc who you gonna call? BUPA? lol
maybe if they stopped sending foreign aid, dumped that not fit for purpose Trident, made the NHS less top heavy with senior/middle management, stopped it being ripped off etc &, actually invested some decent cash into it & PUT UP NI contributions to a more realistic level, then maybe, just maybe we would have an NHS to be proud of.
the serious rta & other shit I've been through in last 20yrs would have bankrupted a small country!
just my opinion...from observations made whilst lying in a hospital bed today & last 11 days,
cheers,
GAZ! |

NHS supporter here (work for them)
Bad experiences - 2009 poor post op care, not helped to sit up after operation on hernia, and was still not very alert and nearly choked on a piece of toast. Discharge slow. Hernia ruptured through stitches two months post op just bending down. This was East Lancs NHS
Good experience 2009 Hernia Repaired swiftly by Bolton
Good experience 2010 Another hernia repair done on the NHS in private hospital, swift, great post op care and lovely place. BMI Beaumont Hospital Bolton
Bad Experience 2013 misdiagnosed fibula fracture, and ligament Damage was diagnosed as a sprain. No follow up, took a visit to GP, MRI scan and Bolton hospital diagnosed it properly. East Lancs NHS said it was a sprain.
Medical Negligence Claim ongoing and looks very promising.
Good experience 2013 Bolton NHS diagnosed a Torn meniscus and was in for surgery 6 weeks after GP visit.
Good Experience 2014 Chorley Botox for Anal fissure, in and out within 5 hours after a General anaesthetic.
Good experience East Lancs Nhs 2014 fractured finger diagnosed, splinted and 6 weeks following up.
Good Experience Bolton 2014 Achilles tendon rupture, admitted to a ward 1 hour 45 mins after hopping into A&E Surgery next day.
So the NHS is a mixed bag, some good experience s some awful experiences. It's not perfect but it's great we have it. ____________________ JACK, MISS YOU LOADS YOU LEGEND. |
