Oh FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK

How can a small job be such a arse ache.

Rear brake had seized slightly. No problem, just take it apart, give it a clean a bit of lube an put back together.

Only problem was it was a sliding pin that had seized, no problem really, just a bit of penetrating oil and a quick fiddle, it should all come apart.

NO Fuckety NO!!!!

Sliding bit snapped off inside the calliper holder.

No problem, small pilot hol down the middle, stud extractor gizmo and jobs a good one.

Hell fuck no!

Thing is welded in like a welded in thing to 1000th of an inch.

No problem, jus=tm make the hole bigger until the slider becomes loose or is no longer there.

Sound good, this I started to do. realise that the pilot hole wasn't as central as it could be so being careful do it bit by bit. But my box of drill bits are at the stables and I'm on nights so finish too early to go to the stables but need sleep before stables open.

So carry on with the few bits I have. Drilling tired is not the best way, but you do what you can.

Today was my day off, watched the F1 and then went to work on the bike.

Bloody drill bit snapped in the hole now.

Cant get the thing onto the work bench because I can't get the bloody ABS sensor off as that has welded itself inside it's mounting so everything has to be done on a cold floor attached to the bike under a carport with a gale blowing.

A 30 minute job now has taken a week and still no nearer finishing it.

Looks like a chewed up mangle bit of scrap at the moment.

Issue getting calliper off already done the punch and hammer thing to break the corrosion seal. Also it is encased so can't punch it from the other side, hence the drilling.

Well after a long search for just the bracket I have drawn a blank. Tried drilling out further but knackered the calliper so it is new calliper time. Apparently it is a known fault and that is why the brackets are so rare.

Commiserations, mate. It's always a complete cunt to ruin a perfectly servicable bit of kit due to a crap bolt.

Co-incidentally...

We can fake landing a man on the moon, so how chuffing hard can it be to design a sliding pin that actually slides? You could lick your dinner off my caliper, it's only seen a couple of wet days, and yet... seized solid. Mad

Picking up the bracket tomorrow. Strange but a Honda dealer could do the part cheaper than all the so called cheap places.

I hate it when stuff like that happens.

Remember trying to drain the oil out of my old mondeo ST24. got underneath and in two seconds rounded the fucking bolt off. 30 minute job turned into 2 week job trying to find somewhere and the time to get the fecking thing off. angle grinder, 4 foot breaker bar and a broken sump later ...

If it makes you feel any better, I know why the FZR was so cheap.

The starter sprag clutch is fucked. This wouldn't be so much of an issue but it's nestled in the middle of the gear box...
