file under live and learn
I bought an Oxford Boss Alarm "ultra stong alarm lock"
couldn't get the alarm bit to work, (it emits a beep when locked) has the batteries out to check etc. etc. no beep.
when packing it back in the box to return to the shop I dropped it, it beeped!
has worked fine since then although sometimes it goes off at the slightest vibration (removing things from seat bag) and other times not at all, and although the beep is loud the alarm noise is pathetic and last for 10secs.
Maybe I should try taking a hammer to it to see how easy it come off
it is bright flouro-yellow and looks the part though ____________________ R1250RS

I had one of these and the electronic bit shit itself.
If you want it, I've probbably still got the lock bit & you can build a useable cheese metal disclock out of the two? ____________________ Please be aware that the above post may be full of complete nonsense.

That looks a bit _too_ sh1t, even for Oxford stuff. I wonder if 'they' make knock-off Oxford stuff? (Hell, you can get fake Casio watches, so I don't doubt this)
Last year, I forgot to take my Oxford screamer off - this happened:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Iru6sniVQI
The 'screamer' bit died in a matter of weeks, but the lock is still going strong to this day, despite being knocked about (and receiving the punishment above). So they've either got a really shoddy QA process where their stuff isn't very consistent, or you've managed to buy a knock-off [of an already cheap product] ____________________ '12 NC700S & '12 CB600F Hornet [Stolen by some dickless twat] Suzuki GT500 shed |

So by making you use a shoddy product, they've actually made it more likely that they'll have to pay out on a theft claim?

Stop knocking Oxford stuff!
If it wasn't for loads of numpties using Oxford gear all the bike thieves would be forced to up their game, make an effort and start coming after the rest of us with Almax/Pragmasis and other decent gear... Dunno about you, but I'd always rather park next to the bike with a dangly Oxford necklace chain and Oxford clothes peg on the disc. ____________________ Beginner Biker Adventures Blog
