Want to replace my levers*, looking at the chinese CNC ones on ebay. Are they any good?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281031141771
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301369713355
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310659540536

*OEM levers protrude past the end of handlebar, which is a bit dodgy if bar ends are not fitted Laughing My clutch lever removed the badge from a VW van not long ago. Im fitting handguards and the originals are just a bit too long for clearance.

If it was me, I wouldn't buy them unless i could see them first and get an idea about the quality of the metal and construction.
My motto tends to be "buy cheap, buy twice" but in this case you might not get a chance to replace them because you and the bike are wrapped round a tree.

Had the second type (the ones that aren't adjustable for length) on my last 2 bikes, never had a problem with them - build quality is pretty decent and the anodised coating has never worn away (except when i've chucked them down the road attached to a bike)

The only part of them that showed signs of 'cheap' were the bolts used, after 2 years on my bandit (stored outside, ridden all year) they were rusting.

I'd probably not go for the ones that are adjustable length - it's more to fail.

I bought these from this seller (but the ones for my 13 Hornet) and they were spot on. Look like a bang on Pazzo copy. People comment on them all the time I.e. how good they look....normally followed by I think I'll get some of them 😁

I bought some for my Hornet over a year ago - Cost £16-ish.They did start to fade and turn from black to a bronze colour on the bit that holds the adjuster. Beyond that - they've been fine, though.

The black has faded slightly, but it's not that noticeable.

inb4 "didnt someone buy some then crashed when the front wheel locked up"

Yes someone did, but they were the wrong levers, he knew they were the wrong levers but he fitted them anyway.

I bought the £30 ones for my fz6, good quality levers. Makes you wonder where the extra £100 goes when you buy branded ones Thinking

You can also choose the colour of the levers and the adjuster. Thumbs Up

From what I have read over the years the cheap Chinese levers are okay on bikes with conventional master cylinders, it's on radial master cylinders that they can have problems with not having a deep enough recess for the pushrod and holding the brakes on a fraction. My STR has radial brakes so I ended up getting the Triumph levers.

As for fit and finish, I had some on the old SV and after 15K miles of use they still looked perfect, they were more expensive for Chinese levers and had ball bearings in the adjuster mechanism rather than the more basic sets.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR600-F2-F3-F4-F4i-CNC-00-01-98-99-Racing-Adjustable-Brake-Clutch-Levers-/290999210188?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43c0e790cc

I'm pretty sure it was this company, they're not as shiny and bright as most other levers.

Piston clearance should always be checked and adjusted with new levers Laughing I know of several reports with idiots crashing where they have not.

Interested to know if RR models are compatable with F4i? Tho I will be buying F4i ones. RR has a lot more choice for ebay tat.

Thanks for the links Thumbs Up

Not got any yet but I am considering adding them to the Xmas list for the Hornet, along with some footpegs too.

Couldn't see what justified Pazzo levers to be so much more expensive than the CNC billet copies.

I got a pair from HK for my ER6F for £15.88, I thought I'd give it a try and if they were shite it didn't really matter that much 'coz I'd risk it for sixteen quid. They are bloody superb, fitted with more precision than the originals and look the dogs !. Well pleased.

Update, for anyone interested. I decided on the cheapest, £14.50 ones from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301412270012 Laughing

Arrived today and fitted just now, in the dark at 11pm Very Happy they appear to be excellent, good finish well made CNC levers Thumbs Up However I wanted short levers, these are very nearly the same length as OEM. I'd have liked the adjuster to stick out less and another inch off the total length.

Fitting - as expected there was zero.. perhaps even negative clearance on the master cylinder piston (and this was what I hoped, guessing they fit many bikes, material can be removed but not put back). OEM levers had about 0.3mm clearance and so I modified these to fit.

Not the best pic (greasy from test fitting) but it shows how much I removed, about ~1mm to get the required clearance:

https://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m593/Kramdra/Cbr600/IMG_20141201_231955_zpsc515ede8.jpg

Recommend. If anyone knows of a shorter/more compact pair of levers I will put these on the other bike and get more.

Is it worth that £1.50 to not have to file a chunk out of them to make them fit?

They make them for the 1000XL

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Folding-Extendable-Brake-Clutch-Levers-for-Honda-XL1000-Varadero-1999-00-06-2013-/221347458674?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3389562e72

Best shot is email the seller and ask.

I have them on my fz6 perfect fit, so far so good

I believe so, older/budget honda levers are somewhat standard. It looks the same on google images as every older/budget honda of which the adjustable/non-adjustables are compatible.

I know 600rr's are different, but thats quite a visible change.

Do they make these for a CB500 or would one for another bike fit? I can't find anything suitable with a quick eBay search. Mine is a later model which has the Brembo master cylinder fitted.

I had the same problem when I had my CB. There were a few out there for the older Nissin braked model but none for the brembo ones. I looked high and low!
