Insurance Payout Woes -Update Page 3

Background:
I crashed without fault. Bike's written off. Offered Payment without Prejudice.
Despite payment being offered, TP insurance keep insisting on giving me bike back as salvage despite me rejecting that offer and telling them over and over again I want full cash settlement only.

Question:
Do I have to accept bike as salvage or am I within my rights to demand full cash settlement? Reason being salvage will be more of an inconvenience to me than anything else and I don't have the time/money to fix and/or sell on.

No you don't have to accept it as salvage, in some cases is a good idea if you can fix it on the cheap and flog on/continue to use it.

It would seem that TP insurance wants to give you the bike so that they can reduce the payout

Accept bike as salvage for massively reduced price, using the fact you don't want it to barter them down, then sell on to somebody on here for a small profit.

You don't need to accept it at all, tell them to Go Hop.
Alternatively a 250r (that's thesame?) went on EBay ( item 181617965858) as a write off recently for £500 plus. That looked very second hand.
What're they offering you? What's the damage - cosmetic only or something more substantial? Where you live - do you the space to break it yourself? Can you be bothered?

If they're only after knocking a couple of hundred pounds off the settlement for it then there's a few on here who who would possibly refund you that - Paddy, me (although as you're in London possibly not me!!!)...

The car insurance company deals with somebody who buys their salvage but won't take bikes?

Has hire bike gone back as if yours is written off then you may get charged

I'm not 100% confident on the push-comes-to-shove situation here.

What they have to do is to make good your losses. If the bike is genuinely worth £750 as-is then you are (in principle) no worse off, on paper.

In practice, you've already got the hassle of replacing it, and now they're trying to palm off the hassle of disposing of it as well.

I wonder what the situation would be if you were to say "So, are you intending to indemnify the costs of me doing the selling, including my time?"

They're trying it on / being lazy. Don't agree if you don't want to, tell them to bugger off if that suits you. If they insist on keep pushing you I'd start asking them who they are regulated by, and start making noises at them. You shouldn't be asked to take back a bike that's been written off - I know insurers give the option but never as an insistence!
