I'm trying to adjust my FTP settings, currently I have an FTP site with the root the root of a drive.

I want to be able to set some users to only have access to certain folders but from what I can see I can only do draconian global user isolation, limiting each user to their own directory.

Surely I'm missing something, this seems like basic functionality and I can't find it. It's server 2012 R2.

You could disable anonymous login and force NTFS permissions.

You can configure IIS to permit Basic auth with Windows accounts. Then, like Loui5D says, use NTFS to enforce permissions. It should be similar enough to 2008, see e.g. https://blog.pluralsight.com/windows-server-2008-ftp-user-authentication

Be sure you require use of SSL (ftps) in that case though, because FTP is not a secure protocol and basic authentication sends username and password in the clear. Anyone between your users and your server, or potentially anyone on your local network, could sniff logon user / password combos.
