First thing to check, did you set the multimeter to DC?

Second, how did you test the alternator? - Find 3 yellow wires coming out of the engine and measure one with another using AC, when the engine runs, there shall be voltage (from 40v to 60v).

Third, if you get AC on the battery, the rectifier is burned/corrupted.

Fourth, is this a magician's motorcycle?

1. No I set the meter to detect magic pixy dust Laughing

2. Yup I measured the voltage whilst running and the ohms between the wires and then tested if it was shorting to engine/frame.. all normal.

3. Hmm perhaps I should just get one from Korea brand spanking new like the alt as it was from fleabay Rolling Eyes

4. Yes.

Alright, get a new reg/rec, don't run the bike like that, AC going into the battery will kill it. Thumbs Up

To be honest, I've no idea.

The reg/rec may be even faulty right out of the box. The only two reasons why a reg/rec gets burned/corrupted are heat and vibrations. There are no mechanical parts in the reg/rec. Also there are no other electronic parts I could think of, that would be between the reg/rec and the alternator itself. The alternator is just a stator (coil made of copper wire) and a moving magnet.

TL; DR, if the alternator is alright, then buy a new reg/rec, or ask a mate to lend you his. I once did test with CBR919RR reg/rec in my CB-1 and vice versa, worked the same. Thumbs Up

Are you going to help or talk more bs from yours? What a perfect example of an admin

Lol, proves you don't bother reading.

AC voltage output from stator when running, what are your readings from the output wires?

With reg rec, what is the voltage you are seeing between the + and -?

You are chundering £££ at something that is fairly simple to diagnose.

Stator needs to be giving out decent AC voltage across ALL wires, multimeter + on wire and - on bare metal/frame/engine.

Testing 1+2 1+3 and 2+3 of the wires in ohms, you should have zero or infinity, basically as close to nothing as poss.

If that checked out, wire the regulator back up and check output of that. Needs to be around 13.5>14 DC V

https://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss182/hmmmnz1/Hyosung/rx125.jpg

this is on this site in the manuals/wiring diagrams section ( brilliant to whoever put these on here, brilliant and amny many many thanks dude ) )

notice the charging wire from the reg/rec it fused...........no black load sensing wire..........

headlights appear to be dc powered not ac......

the only ac on this diagram is from genny to reg rec..........some from ign pickup but thats a different system........

I presume that the reg rec has 2 shrouded wire clusters coming from it.....one shrouded cluster of 3 yellow wires going to the genny....and the other shrouded cluster having 2 wires....one going to earth ( eventually ) and the other to the battery positive via the fuse......again I presume these wires are not "connected" to each other via heat and fusion and a bare yellow is not touching a bare red.......?

the diagram is not brilliantly clear on the vdu screen (or is that my old eyes ) and takes some following.....where else other than the reg/rec and genny could the battery experience ac??

print the diagram off and study.....save for future reference.....

does the eng start and run more or less perfectly?? so no feed back or noise from the cdi??
