Hi all,

Just decided to check out 'quidco'

On first glance it seems a bit 'scammy' - turns out it's actually not.

But, the deal I'm interested seriously seems to good to be true, could someone walk me through what you have to do?

£31 cashback when you place a £10 bet?

https://www.quidco.com/william-hill-sportsbook/

So you get £21 into your bank account for doing fuck all?

And any bonus if your bet wins?

Surely..not? (Could the winning bet be paid in 'free bet' monies?)

Cheers all. Thumbs Up Karma

There are things like that on there. It used to be a thing a few years ago to sign up for gambling sites (casinos, bookmakers, bingo sites etc) and get the cashback. There was loads of sites you could do it on, play the minimum wager requirements and still end up in profit. Worth checking out if you've not got any bookmaker accounts but make sure you read the t's and c's of the offer.

There is always a chance that you won't get the cashback. Worth reading any reviews for the merchant on Quidco (if they do that)

edit again: One last thing, if you're going to do this and are new to cashback sites, compare Quidco with TopCashBack, it could be that you get more cashback on the other site.

Free bets or bonuses will not count towards your cashback wagering requirements
Low risk roulette bets will not count towards wagering. These are defined as ANY bet spread combination on roulette games covering 25 or more (25-37 spots) of the 37 unique number spots on the table. For example, if you bet on Red and Black, You are covering 36 of the 37 possible outcomes, therefore this bet would not count towards any wagering requirements.

Always read the T/C of offers Thumbs Up

I personally love Quidco Mr. Green
Total confirmed & paid cashback £2,020.50

Get hooked though and William Hill will take you to the cleaners, be clever and you win, but I imaging they are hoping you get an account and just start betting in which case you will eventually give them more than they give you.

Member since?

edit just seen your other post, 4-5 years.

I'm at £967 since Nov 06, not that bad but could be better.

I don't do all these betting ones which payout well.

My Quidco cashback is £1895.60
My Topcashback is in the £200's, we use my OH's more.

You do have to read the rules for bonuses if doing the gambling, bingo etc, you quite often have to play through X amount of money before they'll let you withdraw any. Though saying that Bingo through the cashback sites has netted us a few hundreds Smile

Correct.

Read the details so that you understand what's excluded from betting on.

It's easy money.

Do you actually really save any money with these cash back sites?

Ignoring this gambling website but for buying products could you not save the same by buying the same product cheaper elsewhere and not have the hassle of the cash back thing?

I'm sure I've seen it on the gadget show they used a cash back site to buy a game so I checked amazon and it worked out the same price but without messing about with the cash back site.

Last time I bought home insurance, building and content, I got more than 50% of the price back as cash back.

If you can buy elsewhere for a price that's cheaper after you've factored cashback in then you should buy from that cheaper place.

Do remember that to get the cashback you've got to click through quidco or topcashback rather than clicking through price comparison sites.

Anyone who hasn't got a topcashback account, do feel free to sign up using my referral link. https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/sokas

Using my referral link in no way affects the amount of cashback you will receive from using the site, it just means I get a few ponds for sending customers in their direction. Smile

I use Quidco, I've had about £1200 out of it so far. When I first joined I was a little bit cynical because it seemed a bit scammy, but it is actually genuine money.

I use it for insurance, utilities, general shopping (only when I'm actually buying something, I don't browse Quidco then go and buy something I wouldn't have bought otherwise). I once got £60 cashback on a £57 insurance policy.

I have also had a go on the gambling and bingo sites, and must have had about £300 out of it. The idea is to get you hooked, but if you are very clever and don't spend any more than your original wager, you're quids in. Look carefully at the T&Cs because they can be a little difficult to navigate. I did well out of a Grand National bet once, then got cashback on top. I also took £60 out of a bingo site, then got another £25 on top.

The wagering requirements can be a pain and make it difficult to withdraw any winnings, so be careful of the "Deposit £10, we give you £40 to play" type offers, because until you've used the extra £30 they won't pay you out... and funnily enough they'll erode your winnings balance before the bonus balance just to make sure.

It really is worth a go, just be disciplined!

Seriously seems too good to be true.

I'm going to go ahead with it now - the thing I don't get now is it's £31 cashback when you 'deposit and wager £10'

I'm guessing that means you have to do a tenner on 1 bet - there's nothing in the T & C's about this.

Any ideas?

Cheers! Thumbs Up

I've never tried splitting the minimum wager across multiple bets.

Deposit the £10, lose the £10, collect £31 cash back. Thumbs Up

Do I have to lose the £10? What if I win? Wink

I guess I'll just spunk it on a football game I fancy then.

Sweet ! Thumbs Up

One year my ER5 cost £7.50 fully comp to insure, once cashback was factored in. You do have to wait a little while, usually, for it to be paid out, but rarely do places not pay out.
We have also been paid to have home insurance. The cashback was more than the policy was to buy. Think the insurance firms are a little wiser to that though these days.

Okay, I'm not good at this malarky Laughing

This is one of the t&c's

'Low risk roulette bets will not count towards wagering. It doesn't mention low risk sports bets? I'm thinking of putting it on chelsea at 1.18... will I still get cashback? Hah.

Cheers. Thumbs Up

Fuck knows, I've never bothered putting that much thought into getting the free cashback. Razz

Right now, arbitrage sports betting is something I like the look of!

Best deal I have had was home contents ins via the AA.
£22 for the year with £20 cashback.
Add in that I also got £1.75 for using one of the compare sites to see who was offering good deals.
It worked out at 25p for the years insurance.

You do have to check carefully to see if you get the best deal, but for the sake of a bit of time. Its money for old rope.

Ins time is always compare sites, then direct and see if cashback makes it a better deal

Gocompare.com
EXCLUSIVE RATE £2.15 cashback
Insuranceconfused.com £1.95 cashback

So simply checking ins prices can net something for nothing. Sure you can only do it 3 times a year. But it all adds up.
Also check out ClickSnap @ quidco if you do food shopping. Often cashback for items you buy. Just for scanning your reciept.

Now Tv at the moment is £12 cashback ( 1 month sky movie pass) so long as you take the 30 day trial and then pay for a month. (new customers only)
So you get 60 days Sky movies for nothing & £2.01 in your pocket....

I tried it years back. I followed the instructions, the cashback didn't show, I fucked about opening a query, it still didn't show, others had the same problem, I quit.

I decided, on the basis of this thread, to login again - see what I was missing out on.

And do you know what happened when I logged in.

Hang in there

Due to the popular demand of Quidco, we are running a little slower than we would like. We are working on this as we speak, so hang in there and keep trying.

Yet another problem. Fucking thing sucks. Thumbs Up

I never thought of using it for insurance!

I have used it for a few holidays, phone contrast and got 45p back from Halfords on a litre of oil. Up to nearly £100 for money that I was already spending.

I use quidco for various things but usually travel stuff like flights, accommodation, rental cars. I've only got about £110 back since I started using it in 2009, mostly because I don't really buy that many expensive things and most of the offers I use are just 3% back or so.

It seems fairly unreliable though, some transactions such as a flight from way back at the start of last year and one from November 2013 have only recently been confirmed and paid from the supplier.
