Hello I have finally convinced my mum into letting me get a road bike but she is only letting me get a 125 so I was wondering what is one of the most powerful sports bike it also needs to look real sick like a yzfr 125 Also what mods should I put on the bike to make it more powerful and don't say that I should have a low powered bike to learn on I have had lots of experience on high performance dirt bikes so I have the experience. I also want to go on road trips and stuff so it at least needs to go 130 and have enough power to pass

You do not want to get more power out of a 125cc motorcycle and I'll tell you why. It costs a fortune to gain nearly nothing, which will result in terrible MPG and even worse service intervals. When you look back at the money you've wasted, you'll realise, that you could have bought a bigger bike that'd be far more reliable and have the power you desired. Thumbs Up

The ''best'' you can get is a de-restricted 125cc two stroke, we're talking about 20kw of power at very poor MPG and very expensive regular engine rebuilds.

130 from a 125? If you mean mph and not kph I'd make friends with your local garage. If - and I mean it's a massive if - you get that from a road bike you'll be servicing it so regular he will order a new car on what you'll be giving him for spares.
Save your money, pass your test, get a bike that will do it.
A reasonably highly tuned 125 in the 1990s would kick out 25-30 bhp from a highly strung 2 stroke, good for the ton if you were lucky, in between very regular servicing.
Today's 4 strokes belt out a little less, mainly as they are designed to meet licensing laws (so aren't easily tuned).

Ps I still want a Suzuki RG-F (again) or a RGV!

Ah I see, 130 is about 80mph, 100 around 62 mph. You will need one of the better 125 bikes to reach 130kph I think the only one is possibly the Honda Varadero 125 which has a slightly better V twin engine and can just about reach 130 / 80MPH, others I think just manage 100kph.

If you can legally ride above a 125 in your country and you have lots of off road experience then what you should be after is a 250. Great fuel economy and enough power to not be slowing everyone down on the road. Ninja 250's are quite popular as beginner bikes.

Here's a suggestion for you.

Your folks are presumably only allowing you to have a 125 because they don't trust you not to go out and kill yourself. Because they obviously have a pretty good handle on the mindset of teenage boys.

So you come back with a high-revving, plastics-covered fast as possible, explodey crotch-rocket of a 125.

Does that give them confidence or comfirm their suspicions?

You come back with a sensible looking 125 road bike (which is frankly, doing near enough the same speed as any other 125 barring an explodey 2-stroke) ride it regularly for 6 months and do not crash, kill yourself or get brought home by the police. THEN try for a 250.

Anyway. NZ speed limit is 100km/h (62mph). Any 125 will do that.

If I lived over there and was in the market for a small bike, I'd get a CT110 "Postie bike" because they are cool as fuck. You can't get them in the UK. You of course, wont realise how cool they actually are until you're a bit older.

So, is your mum not aware that a full power 2T 125 will be faster than a lazy 250?

This question is intended to help you choose the right bike to achieve your goal, which is, as stinkwheel says, marketing yourself as being mature and trustworthy. It'll take some doing.

Their license systems seems every bit as sperged as ours, although they can at least get a full license at 18.

Anyway, you are an "Admin" you could forgive MC in Korns stead... Whistle Laughing

I am the "Admin", and thou shalt have no other.

That puts me above the mundane concerns of mere "Mods". It's more of a titular role.

Of course. I'm currently posting from (clicks) Switzerland.

I don't understand, an RS125 is faster than a GN 250... a mito is uicker than my TTR250, it's even quicker than my CRM 250 and that's a smoker Wink

Stinkwheel's right. Part of the reason I got a Varadero 125 is because it looks sensible, and goes about the same as a partially derestricted DT, although fully derestricted the DT125 leaves it for dead. Anyway, my dad found the Varadero appealing. The Aprilia MX125's and such that I was eyeing up before just screamed trouble at him. The plan was to goad him into letting me bring back a 30BHP smoker 125 at some point but I fell in love with the Vara.

Now, ironically, he trusts me more to not get in an accident on my bike than in my car. Laughing When my Micra has 54BHP, my CRM has 40 and weighs much MUCH less. My GPZ had 59BHP when it was new Rolling Eyes

Get any old shitter then prove you aren't a prat. Then get a sensible 250. Then get a less sensible 250/400 sooner or later you'll end up on a 600 or something, with a slightly more mature outlook and so better suited to having one anyway. I'm still a prat and I know it, which is why I'm not on something properly quick. Either a quick bike will be the end of me, my licence, or my attitude towards throttle control.... in other words, when I get a quick bike, it will either make or break me. Thumbs Up

Lot of effort to go to to get two proxies in New Zealand.

I think yzf's look a bit naff
Like they are trying too hard to look cool and a big boys bike. Why is back end so jacked up?
You'd be better off on a YBR, that will do 80mph downhill, maybe 75mph on flat and get you through till you pass your test.
YZF will go about 5mph faster and cost twice as much and you'll be up to your neck in debt for a bike you will be bored of in 6 months.

I want to write things to help you out, but your English irritates me enough to not do that.

In order of most helpful; Things I believe will help you achieve the solution to your problem.

1. Reading
2. Punctuation
3. Spell check

Also stop letting mummy control you. My parents told me if I got a bike at all then they'd wreck it. Parents say things. Do what you want and you'll be surprised how accepting they'll be later on.

Go get your 2 stroke panigalesuperninjabusa125RR.

Anyway let me get back to what I was doing before reading this thread.
