You do not want to get more power out of a 125cc motorcycle and I'll tell you why. It costs a fortune to gain nearly nothing, which will result in terrible MPG and even worse service intervals. When you look back at the money you've wasted, you'll realise, that you could have bought a bigger bike that'd be far more reliable and have the power you desired.
The ''best'' you can get is a de-restricted 125cc two stroke, we're talking about 20kw of power at very poor MPG and very expensive regular engine rebuilds. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Apparently not trolling.

Here's a suggestion for you.
Your folks are presumably only allowing you to have a 125 because they don't trust you not to go out and kill yourself. Because they obviously have a pretty good handle on the mindset of teenage boys.
So you come back with a high-revving, plastics-covered fast as possible, explodey crotch-rocket of a 125.
Does that give them confidence or comfirm their suspicions?
You come back with a sensible looking 125 road bike (which is frankly, doing near enough the same speed as any other 125 barring an explodey 2-stroke) ride it regularly for 6 months and do not crash, kill yourself or get brought home by the police. THEN try for a 250.
Anyway. NZ speed limit is 100km/h (62mph). Any 125 will do that.
If I lived over there and was in the market for a small bike, I'd get a CT110 "Postie bike" because they are cool as fuck. You can't get them in the UK. You of course, wont realise how cool they actually are until you're a bit older. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

So, is your mum not aware that a full power 2T 125 will be faster than a lazy 250?
This question is intended to help you choose the right bike to achieve your goal, which is, as stinkwheel says, marketing yourself as being mature and trustworthy. It'll take some doing. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I am the "Admin", and thou shalt have no other.
That puts me above the mundane concerns of mere "Mods". It's more of a titular role.

Of course. I'm currently posting from (clicks) Switzerland. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I don't understand, an RS125 is faster than a GN 250... a mito is uicker than my TTR250, it's even quicker than my CRM 250 and that's a smoker
Stinkwheel's right. Part of the reason I got a Varadero 125 is because it looks sensible, and goes about the same as a partially derestricted DT, although fully derestricted the DT125 leaves it for dead. Anyway, my dad found the Varadero appealing. The Aprilia MX125's and such that I was eyeing up before just screamed trouble at him. The plan was to goad him into letting me bring back a 30BHP smoker 125 at some point but I fell in love with the Vara.
Now, ironically, he trusts me more to not get in an accident on my bike than in my car. When my Micra has 54BHP, my CRM has 40 and weighs much MUCH less. My GPZ had 59BHP when it was new
Get any old shitter then prove you aren't a prat. Then get a sensible 250. Then get a less sensible 250/400 sooner or later you'll end up on a 600 or something, with a slightly more mature outlook and so better suited to having one anyway. I'm still a prat and I know it, which is why I'm not on something properly quick. Either a quick bike will be the end of me, my licence, or my attitude towards throttle control.... in other words, when I get a quick bike, it will either make or break me. ____________________ Current:1991 Honda MT50 (Soon to be a H100/MTX/MT5 hybrid), 1976 Honda Cub C70, 2005 Honda Varadero 125, 1993 Yamaha TTR250 Open Enduro , 2010 Road Legal Stomp YX140, 1994 Honda CRM 250 MK III, 1999 Cagiva Mito 125, 1992 Honda CB400 Super Four, Stomp T4 230, 1984 Honda H100s, 2009 Sym XS125K

I want to write things to help you out, but your English irritates me enough to not do that.
In order of most helpful; Things I believe will help you achieve the solution to your problem.
1. Reading
2. Punctuation
3. Spell check
Also stop letting mummy control you. My parents told me if I got a bike at all then they'd wreck it. Parents say things. Do what you want and you'll be surprised how accepting they'll be later on.
Go get your 2 stroke panigalesuperninjabusa125RR.
Anyway let me get back to what I was doing before reading this thread.
