Hello. I currently own a KSR MOTO Sirion 50 and be will riding to work 5 days a week. Problem is I have no clue how to get there and will need some form of GPS. I can use my phone for that but have nothing to attach my phone to my bike. I cannot attach anything to the handlebars and there is nothing to attach it to! I'm looking for a cheap mirror mount to use with a waterproof case which is preferred and I was wondering if anybody knew where to get one? (UK Based)

Most ones I have looked at are £60-£100 (which is too much for me) and I could just create one for a tenner.

Couldn't you just read a map and memorise the route?

It is a 15-20 minute ride to get to work with many roundabouts and turnings, unfortunately my brain will not be able to memorize it Razz

I can only accept that if you live in Milton-Keynes.

So ride it a couple of times before you start and it will be 2nd nature Thumbs Up

You do not want to be looking at a sat nav on a bike anyway. Far too much to monitor without having to keep looking at a tiny screen.
If you really need a sat nav to guide you. Then stick it in your pocket and just go by voice commands into your ears Mr. Green

My reaction to that Andy, was, "You obviously ent never been t' Redditch".. but self evident really, or you'd still be there going round the twenty concentric ring roads, following the route markings that all say "Town Centre -> All other Routes ^"

Young Rider.... if you need a GPS to find your way to work every day.. I think a mobile phone holder is the least of your worries!

But GEEZ is this a 1st world problem, we ow have kids so cosseted by School-Run-Mum mentality that they have never had to go anywhere on their own, or even see what's going on beyond the window of the kiddie carrier, they HAVE to use a smart phone to tell them what to do, when AND how to do it!

Kid; put the phone DOWN.. just for a few minutes.. break the habbit! Go to the petrol station and buy an A-Z map of your town.. paper thing, don't worry if you cant find anywhere to plug i the charger.... READ IT.. copy the 'route' to work, onto a piece of paper.. put it in your pocket. Then, on a quiet sunday afternoon, try to ride to where you got to go... WITHOUT looking at the b't of paper.. when you cant remember what to do next PULL OVER! STOP! and pull the bit of paper out of your pocket to check. Do a bit more, and again, when your memory fails you, STOP and check the paper directions.

If you are HONESTLY have so little confidence and aptitude to trust that you CAN remember the way, REALLY strapping something else to your bike to distract you from what is going on around you, and divert your seriously impaired 'concentration' from the job of dealing with that... a Sat-Nav IS, really just layering up the causes of calamity! Especially if you itend doing this in 'Rush Hour'.

Ride the route, ahead of time, find your way; get a 'feel for it'.. THEN, get up early on your first day, to do it, in the lighter earlier traffic, and pack your breakfast to eat when you get there, in the time you are 'early'.. and a book to take up any spare.

I REALLY think you are tackling the problem here from the wrong end..

You'll be fine, I go most places by a quick glance at a map and I have STML.

I've gone round London without ever going there before by looking at Google Maps Laughing

In typical forum fashion, someone asks a question and most replies say that his question is irrelevant and he should try something else!

Which, to be fair, I'm sort of about to do...

OP, I've tried 2 or 3 different <£20 mounting options before realising they're cheap for a reason and are shit. Just don't do it. The only real viable option for less than a tenner is what pinkyfloyd posted, but I'm assuming your tank won't be in front of you on the moped, so you're either getting it stuck over your speedo/clocks or getting creative.

I've seen this topic many a time, so I uploaded a vid of what i've found to be the best solution in terms of quality and cost.

Iphone maps give voice instructions, so stick the phone in your pocket and plug in earphones.

Buy a small clip seal box and drill a few holes in the back. Then cable tie it on to the bike. Simples.

Something like this (but not this as I'm not sure your phone will fit):

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
