Hi, there
I have few questions about my bike hyosung gt 125 because everything is from 125 except forks, forks are from 250cc, i had many problems with it for example speed o meter didnt match headlight didnt match and everything that was attached to 125 forks didnt match. But the problem now is front brake that doesnt match, brake matches but the caliper mount bracket doesnt, and i dont wanna use homemade stuff as brackets and extend it or whatever because its break safety first Wink so it need to be durable.
My questions :
1. Where can i find just mounting bracket for 250 front brake Confused i think i looked everywhere around google and all i found was whole brake with the bracket and its around 50-90£
2.Where can i find something to make a thread inside old mounting bracket [ i made new holes in bracket from 125 and it fits but i can put nut on other side so i need to make new thread m6/1.25mm as stock holes had.
3. What should i do ? buy new caliper with mounting for 50/90£ [i have working caliper is just a mounting bracket i need ] or do that thread [but how. I tried with some 'tap' drill tool that makes thread but it was too soft and it melted that tool the thread was gone on that tap its for mild steel and aluminium and the bracket is heavy i think its steal hard steal or something.
4. Also another questions what parts also suits hyosung gt 125 ? because i would want to buy red brake and clutch levers and handle bars but i cant find any for this bike i found for kawasaki yamaha honda but not for this bike will parts from other bikes fit mine ? if yes what other bike parts will fit mine one ?
5.What are good website with parts for my motorbike ?

Many Thanks for helping guys !

I think you would be better off ( and a good deal safer) if you use stock parts to return the bike back to it's original spec - rather than use a jumble of incompatible, botched parts to make a fancy-looking death-trap.

In particular, brake parts, like mountings, back-plates, nuts and bolts, are usually made from hardened steel, to be able to cope with the stresses and forces involved, and shouldn't be replaced with unsuitable alternatives, or modded to fit something they shouldn't.

Try a general search on eBay for "Hyosung (Breaking, Spares)" because sometimes the parts you need aren't listed separately.

Aren't the 250 parts you list identical to the 125? I thought the 250 was the same bike just a bigger engine.

Urgh.

I worked on one of these to help out a chumrade.

The rear brake m/c was also seized. We unseized it, but the seals were shot and we couldn't find a recondition kit, so we got a salvage replacement. That was seized too. We unseized it and the seals also leaked, but it sort-of kind-of worked, and fuck it, we'd already sunk another £40 and two week's wait, it was only the rear brake, right? But it was a sod of a pig of a whore to bleed.

Insert much the same convoluted tale of woe for: the horn; the instruments; the exhaust, which led to us removing the cylinder head to drill and chisel it out; the rear tyre and rim; the swing arm; and other parts of which I have only a vague, nightmarish recollection. It was a Sisyphean task to keep unfucking it faster than it fucked itself.

His "bargain" bike cost more than its purchase cost to get through an MOT, then he dropped it and the price of sorting it yet again finally rendered it uneconomical. It's still sitting in his garage, too expensive to repair, but with nobody daft enough to take it on even as a Gumtree giveaway.

They're over-designed, over-priced, under-supported follys. You will never recoup a penny that you put into it and the best thing that you can do is to weigh it in for scrap.

This is helpful, although you'll only realise that with hindsight.

When you needed to ask if grips will fit the bars, it became apparent that you were beyond help.
