Should be a miniture flying machine! How much more work to go? Looks like it's in early stages..

Any trouble fitting the engine to the frame?

the funny thing is that the engine mountings almost line up with
the mountings on the frame.
have to make a few washers and have a pipe made and that's it.

OMG, It can be done. I've been wanting to do this for while but I wanted to put a husky 400 engine in and get some pipes made to have a dukalike 400.

Good on you mate. How much has your project cost you so far?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

You would need a ktm engine (i think) as the drive chain is on opposite sides on the rs.

Someone made a cr/mito a few years ago and he said it wheelies in any gear.

I keep thinking i should keep my supercity and play around with CR250/500 engine....

What about the gearing on the CR500 gearbox? Isn't it quite low geared? I suppose using a small sprocket on the back and a big one on the front would help but surely it's gonna be crazy in every gear? Then again, that's awesome! Twisted Evil

Thats very very Impressively Silly mate!
Ive heard of issues with the Mito frame cracking when the CR500 engine is fitted, but that extra bottom cradle and bracing to the existing frame might make all the difference. Are you going to solidly or rubber mount the motor? Ive heard that the CR or any 500cc MX engine makes alot of vibration that can cause problems, but im really interested in seeing how you get on with this bike.
I was decided on trying to extract more power from a re-built KMX200 engine, instead of trying to get a bigger lump fitted. Please will someone tell me that a KX500 engine will fit into my KMX and that the single downtube frame is plently strong enough to contain it Laughing
Good luck anyways with that Mito. Have you got any more pics or even videos of the YPVS/Mito yet?

hey anand...how far have you got with this? my turn to hyjack your thread this time Wink

for those who havent seen this elsewhere, this is my take on the idea, been working on it on and off for the last couple of years...its a 1989 TZR125 2RK fitted with a 1991 CR500R motor, as you see it it weighs 90kgs, and puts out about 60bhp at the rear wheel. with the fairing and lights its going to weigh about 98kgs wet. compare that to an R6.....170kgs and 100bhp. Twisted Evil

https://homepage.ntlworld.com/gavin.prior/tzr500/tzr500a.WMV

its running 14/30 gearing....thats NINETEEN TEETH LESS than standard on the rear....yet it still pulls cleanly from tickover and wants to wheelie like a mad thing when it comes on the pipe. top speed in first is about 60mph.....and ive got some software that predicts 11s quaters and 132mph top whack. with a 16t front it should top 140mph.

and the vibes arent at all bad, notice im not even wearing gloves in the vid......

also see how it lurches sideways on the side stand when i blip it.....the torque is amazing!

some pics with its posh clothes on...
