Could have been worse.

In the bicyclists defence, that riding pattern would equate to a footprint not dissimilar to the size and speed of a tractor and trailer, but much easier to see beyond and would have been incredibly easy to overtake safely.
Driver did not see a threat to himself or his sprog since he thought any collision with the cyclists, no matter how catastrophic, could probably be fixed with trip through a car wash and a bit of T-cut. 5 Star NCAP innit. ____________________ Yamaha FZ6 S2 |

Nope, little on the close side but perfectly acceptable. Cycles should not have been two abreast either. Its dangerous (consider the large speed differential on a blind bend) and inconsiderate.
I have filtered and overtaken cars equally close, especially on bicycle. Ive overtaken a car while its overtaking a cyclist, to make a point that there really is plenty of space
Its a joke how most cars overtake. They hesitate, tailgate for an hour, pull out just as an oncoming motorbike/car approaches almost forcing it off the road because of the massive gap to cyclist.
The profile of a car overtake typically pulls out very close to the arse of a cyclist, way overshoots into the oncoming lane a car length after passing the cycle and then moving back a year later. Cars awareness of space is shit.
So its nice to see a driver that can do it properly |

Ahh, one of the many reasons I hate riding in larger groups.
And perhaps you don't ride a pushbike on these kind of roads? But being passed like that makes me practically shit myself every time. Out of order and in that example, utterly unnecessary.
Sadly it's pretty much par for the course these days, everyone's in a super hurry to get where they need to go yesterday that anything that might slow them down by even seconds = riot. It doesn't matter if I'm breaking the speed limit on my pushbike, people will still risk life and limb in crazy lunges to get past me.
On the bright side, at least I can get some satisfaction if I can overtake them straight back ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

If you're gonna slipstream something you can't see around, it's probably best to do it on a bike with brakes! ____________________ Current bike - 2018 H2-SX, 2004 SV1000s, 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RF, 2017 Sherco SERF 300, 2003 Suzuki DRZ400 (stolen - AY53 JUU) |
