Where do you live? If full of thieving scum, then move somewhere else.
Address has the biggest impact on insurance IMO. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Sorry, OP, you be screwed. Bike thieves are creatures of habit, and insurers will assume that it was stolen from your address and they'll be back for whatever replaces it.
This sucks, it isn't right, but that's the way it is.
You might pm 'arry' and ask if there's any way that you can present your case in the most favourable light though. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I like it when people understand how insurance works. |
I wonder if mpd wants to insure my car? Then he can be liable when I crash it? |
Isn't that just like when a parent adds their sibling as a named driver then loses all NCB when the kid smashes the car?
Sure, there is no insurable asset after the theft, but that's for the theft part of the insurance. All insurance also covers third party liability, for which the OP paid for 12 months cover, which he has not received.
If you only have TPO insurance and a third party makes a claim against you, do the insurers instantly cancel the remainder of the policy or does this only apply if it's a theft claim? ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

No, the policy only stops when there is no insurable asset.
Vehicle gets stolen = no asset to insure = no policy
Insurance write vehicle off = no asset to insure = no policy
Insurance repair = asset still there = keep policy
Third party claims = asset still there = keep policy
Why is this confusing? |
So if someone with TPO insurance gets to keep the policy running even if a claim is made by a third party, what happens if the insured vehicle is damaged beyond economical repair?
The insurer can't write it off as it wasn't insured for damage anyway, so if the owner decided to cut their losses and scrap it and bought another vehicle first, could they get the policy swapped over to the new vehicle? ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
