 |
|
Tips on technique please people.
I dont want to end up breaking my foot or anything to incorrect application of bootage causing a misalignment at the boot/mirror interface leading to fracture.
In other words, how do you boot it just right to fuck it and not hurt your tootsies !!!!

Erm...... a friend told me......
.... that it's better to do it by hand, with the underside of your fist (well padded and resistant to bruising), a sharp downwards blow (cos that's the one direction they aren't built to flex in) usually does the trick. ____________________ I was only doing what it said on my licence officer....

Personally I'd punch, knuckles onto the actual mirrored part. They shouldn't flex that way either
My gloves have armoured knuckles, which I suspect is the sole purpose of them.

Eye, I'll tell you an effective method. Park it outside me house for a week. Wait for some twat (and there's plenty of them drive along my road ) to tear arse along, come to close to the car and rip the f*cker clean off. Had it happen about three times now by tossers on their 'school run' |

I imagine that hitting it from above in the same manner you would bang your fist onto a table is the best way. ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

I presume you do it as you're riding past? In that case a punch into the mirror would surely throw you off balance.
I once was cycling to school, and saw the class geek up ahead, thought I would look cool if I kicked his arse as I rode by. Tried it then completely lost my balance and fell off in front of everyone. Guess who looked the fool then?
Anyway I would guess a "banging the fist on the kitchen table" style would be best, so as not lose balance. I'm too scared to ever try in case the above repeats itself! ____________________ About me|@Major_Grooves|My company|Digg|Flickr |

but surely by kicking the wing mirror off a car then you are going to put the life of the next biker to go past it in danger

The heated ones are much more expensive to replace though
Seriously, what's the point? That car owner might be the first to arrive on the scene a couple of miles down the road when some other bugger's done a hit and run and knocked you into the nearest tree. Or maybe he'll be the one doing the hit and run because he had the red mist after someone deliberately knocked his wing mirror off. |

There’s the option of kicking out the tail light or putting a dent in the door with your boot, much more difficult than taking out a mirror on a moving car ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Underside of your fist to the mirror side.
Make sure to swing though and don't use the momentum of the bike.
Don't do it too often though.
Have fun. |
