Posted: 14:38 - 22 Mar 2015 Post subject: Decent Tyre Pump for Varadero |
 |
|
Hi All,
Looking for any recommendations on decent 12V tyre inflators which can be powered from the bike battery. (I don't have a car). Have been looking at this:
https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/17728
(bit pricey but looks decent). It mentions that it only supports Schrader valves and I don't have an effing clue what valves my Varadero has! I presume it's a pretty standard type of valve on most tyres?
Happy riding |

Just get a bicycle pump or a foot pump.
I use my bicycle track pump for the bike. ____________________ yzf 600r |

Run the engine whilst using it - it would be quite ironic if you flattened the battery whilst pumping-up a tyre - and if you have the PGM-Fi version, you can't bump-start it on a flat battery! ____________________ Honda Varadero XL125(V8)

You might just get away with it if you pull the headlamp fuse - but if the battery voltage drops below 12v, there's not enough juice to run the lights, the ECU, the heaters in the O2 sensors, the fuel pump and the injectors.
This doesn't happen on the carb version, and as far as I know, only affects the Varadero PGM-Fi. |
It was sufficiently flat that the instrument panel didn't switch on, and there was no noise from the fuel pump.
Got it to about 5mph in 2nd, jumped on, dropped the clutch, and away it went ____________________ Fisty: after polishing the tank with the glistenng beads of sweat from my full hot scrotum, I filled the headrace bearings with 10cc of my manmilk |

Just bought one from Maplins and did a post......can't seem to find it now
Some of the manual ones like stirrup pumps are pretty good and BMW do one for their older bikes that's small but works well. ____________________ Space Is Deep |
