Decent Tyre Pump for Varadero

Hi All,

Looking for any recommendations on decent 12V tyre inflators which can be powered from the bike battery. (I don't have a car). Have been looking at this:

(bit pricey but looks decent). It mentions that it only supports Schrader valves and I don't have an effing clue what valves my Varadero has! I presume it's a pretty standard type of valve on most tyres?

A schrader is fitted to all cars bikes etc.. Presta is the skinny type you find on push bikes

I have a ring one

It has clips that connect to the battery

And a screw on valve

Just get a bicycle pump or a foot pump.

I use my bicycle track pump for the bike.

Run the engine whilst using it - it would be quite ironic if you flattened the battery whilst pumping-up a tyre - and if you have the PGM-Fi version, you can't bump-start it on a flat battery!

Look on wiggle, Amazon or EBay for a track pump. They are designed for push bikes, and can easily inflate a skinny road tyre to 120psi. I paid about £17 new for mine. It has both presta and shrader ends on it. Save farting about with a 12v compressor, a few pumps and you're done

Just bought one from Maplins and did a post......can't seem to find it now

Some of the manual ones like stirrup pumps are pretty good and BMW do one for their older bikes that's small but works well.

And.......12V ones use a lot of juice. Not sure I'd use one on my bike if I didn't have the car battery to power it. Even using the big FO battery on the car, it'd still flatten it pretty quickly and I have to have the motor running to top-up all 4 car tyres.
