As last post.... fit a better rider.
As stock, it ought to be able to exceed most UK speed limits; and getting from point a to point b in the least time is not a function of power or max speed, but a riders ability / bravery / stupidity to use as much of what they got more of the time.
A little power employed with a modicum of skill and a little wisdom will always get you further and faster than a lot of power, foolishly employed with stupidity... one of the 'lessons' low powered learner legals offer, that contribute to their being good training tools.
'Power', strict scientific definition is is rate of change of energy;
Engines turn chemical energy, petrol, into kinetic energy, motion.
Brakes turn kinetic energy, motion, into thermal energy, heat.
There's a lesson in there.. if you have a finite amount of 'power' to turn petrol into motion, don't waste it, turning that motion back into heat using the brakes! THAT is how you go faster...
'cos your brakes are probably five times or more, as powerful as your engine... engine will take you maybe fifteen seconds to get you 'up' to 60mph.. brakes will get you back to a full stop in three!
The trick, of course, is to not use the brakes, and manage to not crash.. remember, its not the speed that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end.. any idiot can go super-fast given enough power.. its avoiding that neck-breaking stop after that's the difficult bit.... but that is back to this 'better rider' thing.
Better rider.. requires no spanners; no declared mods to insurance; doesn't impinge on learner or licence regulations; doesn't decrease the value of the bike; doesn't reduce the reliability, usually increases it; gets more 'speed', with less fuel, and less wear and tear, so less servicing, less crashing and less money.. never wears out, gets better the ore you use it, and transfers directly to any bike you throw a leg over, not just this one, for no extra cost or cash... no spanners required....... WHY does it NOT make sense to you?
Stop looking for stuff to do TO your bike.. start looking at stuff to do WITH it... like just RIDE the fucking thing! ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!

no. the engine will struggle producing 10bhp, it will not make 60mph with any ease. Steep hill? 30-40mph. Dual carriageway or motorway could be considered dangerous, being overtaken by coaches (who have 70mph limit) and possibly HGV's.
So not a better rider. One that likes pathetic old honda designs. Give the bike to Tef  |

You can tell us you got 90, or even 100 out of it; you can tell us it ran a 10 second quarter mile and lapped Cadwell in under a minute, on knoblies, cos you'd just won the Natterjack enduro on your way to Dakar.... and you might as well as long as you want to talk about 'bull-shit'..

Does the speedo wobble around as much as mine? Same engine, same factory as quinqi 125-2d.
Indicated is usually 10% higher, not that these pieces of shit have any accuracy. You know this when HGVs pass you at 65  |
