Just put the end which has the "rope" type material, IN the disc lock and the other end (should be a round bit of metal) on your front brake lever or possibly the clutch lever. When I mean IN the disc lock, I mean, put it in before attaching it to your brake disc so its jammed inbetween lock and disc.
I use it when away from home but not when parked up outside. I'd rather not draw a thieves attention to it in the hope that he takes it off the sidestand and then drops it because he didnt notice the disc lock .....He hopes. |

Don't rely on it too much. Apparently some barstewards like to nick the twirly things so you forget and mess up your bike. Check out this old thread for handy alternative hints etc.
