125 'repsol' crashes

Not sure if this has been posted. Couldn't find anything on a search.

I'm a bit baffled on this one, the corner was nice and wide, plenty of visibility even without riding in the middle/opposite as they were. Yet he managed to rupture his spleen and break his wrist.

I've drifted before on a corner that tightened and was partially blind when I started riding, but this just seems odd.

Maybe he fell asleep. I mean a 125cc single cylinder four stroke is not really a crotch rocket.

Now on the serious note, I've seen many videos like this one, still can't understand it. With new riders, what happens a lot is, they are looking around on the scenery, whilst not paying attention to where they are actually going. OR, some of them just freeze, when something happens.

Question: Why does no one have a first aid kit? That's a fine and some points of your licence here.

I'd guess it was the telegraph pole and the thought of *i'd better not run wide and hit that*.

Also ( and i've done it and still sometimes do it ) you forget as a new rider that whist you are ok most of the time .. you still don't have that built in instinct for what to do automatically and if you assume you do ... sometimes it fails. The faster you are going / the sharper the bend ... the more that failure can bite you. That's why i have kept my speed sensible - it gives me time to react to something that a more experienced rider would do without thinking about it.

I embarrassingly did something very similar only yesterday. I was 'making progress' and took too much speed into a corner and panicked as I wasn't able to get the lean angle required to get round the corner, so stood the bike up and went flying off the road into a field. I jumped about four feet off the road into a field that luckily had no fence and managed to stay on. Had it been anything other than a supermoto I doubt I would've stayed on.

That looks suspiciously like the Evo Triangle in North Wales. Specifically, this kink on the A543. I can confirm that it is well sighted and easily navigable at over the NSL on a dry day should you be so inclined. I've ridden that road hundreds of times but have also seen quite a few overturned cars in fields adjacent to that exact kink so it's apparently quite easy to crash there. The cars I saw were usually barried/chavved and I suspect were drawn to the area by that EVO car magazine that does a lot of testing on those roads.

No idea why this kid crashed though, it's not like there's much to get target fixated on in the Denbigh Moors
