if your gonna buy givi I would buy givi monokey rather than the monolock ..
monolock...which I fitted to me ZZR14 and it bounced up _and down like a fcukin po-go stick chuckin every thing round inside.
the construction of the monokey box & plate is much more ridged and won`t bounce up and down...
it is a lot more expensive though. ____________________ Whatever I post I have no citation and no intention of providing one..

I had a 50l top box on my 125 Ruined the already bad handling and knocked 5mph off my top speed.
But yeah, 50l is huge. Go for something smaller. |

I have a Givi E55 Maxia on my VFR when I tour. Fits two helmets comfortably. Putting a helmet and a biking jacket in there is a bit of a squeeze, but not too much. I wouldn't be able to fit helmet, textile jacket and textile trousers in there without taking the armour out or doing violence to it.
Doesn't affect handling much at all if it's empty (more inclined to wheelie, but that's with a bag strapped to pillion seat too), and hasn't affected stability north of 140mph (tested on autobahn). VFR is normally very stable though.
I wouldn't keep much heavy stuff in a topbox though. Strapping stuff to pillion seat is much safer, less likely to snap mounts etc. Normally I just keep earplugs, documents, spare bulbs, rain jacket, spare gloves, that kind of thing in there, and put my helmet and gloves in when parked up. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Hmm is 50 that big
Not sure what size my girlfriends top box is,it takes two lids or lid and legs but doesn't seem too big.
I thought it was more than 50 for some reason.I wouldn't want one much bigger really though.
Isn't 35l just enough for a helmet and not much else ? |
