Ha lol, maybe in all the hast im fluffing up my clutching?!
I know on some cars they have a spring so if you suddenly come off the gas the spring slowly closes as to not suddenly starve the engine resulting in it cutting out, just thinking maybe some bikes have the same and a springs knackered.

I have had CV carbs cause this if the choke is stuck on a bit, at a guess the slides come down a bit and the mixture richens too much at that moment.

How's the fuelling generally?

Seems good as far as i know, it goes like the clappers, i did change the spark plugs recently and they were black? but they have been in there for about 3 years!

The choke is shit, when you start the bike the choke works for a bit then its like it completely shuts off so i just use the throttle to keep the bike idling until its warm enough to ride.

If the plugs are black, the choke doesn't seem to work properly and it cuts out when you come to a stop I would be checking out the choke mechanism and carbs in general. Has it been messed with? Or stood a long time?

its been used fairly regulary over the past 3 years, i think the bloke that had it before rarely used it, the choke has always been hit or miss on it but its just something i got use to, this cutting out problem seems to be a new thing, im pretty sure the carbs could do with a bit of work?

If the plugs had been in there 3 years, have you been remiss with other servicing? A clogged air filter will cause a rich mixture and other cocking around.

Don't go chasing down big problems - like anything involving removing the carbs - until you have eliminated the small ones. Service it, charge the battery, see if it starts to behave.

I stay on top of the oil and that gets changed every 6months and then oil filter every other oil change, must admit im a bit slack when it comes the the other bits, but i gave it a full service on saturday, i did oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter and plugs, shes running well nice after!

Do you reckon it could be the centre stand switch triggering as im slamming on the brakes? just a thought i had earlier.
