Datatool 3 weirdness, arming itself when on.

Bike was under a cover for winter after blowing over and waiting for parts.

When I disarm it, it will beep like normal, I'll turn the ignition on and it won't start, it'll flag up an EFI error eventually, and then it will arm itself again! And then I have to disarm it again and all is good after cycling the ignition.


I'm thinking the ignition pick up for the alarm or whatever they done when installing it has gone bad but am wondering if there's something I'm missing.

Open case, bypass completely with two pieces of bent wire:

Protip: If you have the manual handy, you can remove the staples and use them to perform the bypass.


Then, leaving the wiring connected to your loom, remove the rest of the unit and perform maintenance:

Fairly seriously, these things appear to be so trivial to bypass in this way that they're Arec Bordwin worfress.

Having one fitted would (and did) actively put me off buying a bike.
