ER6F rear brake help

I'm really new to biking so apologies if this is a dumb question but I've had my first bike for a few months now (a 2006 Kawasaki ER6F) and I've noticed that when I wheel it out of my garage, the rear disc makes a scraping noise against the brake pads. Is this normal?

Depends but most like your brake is binding. Helps to clean it once in a while.

No, service rear caliper. It's easy, If I can do it .......

Replace the seals though.

Thanks guys. So there shouldn't be any contact between the pads and discs when the rear brake pedal isn't being pushed? It's a slight rub rather than a scrape.

Since I serviced mine it doesn't bind at all, in fact I had an MOT immediately after (part reason for doing it) and they said it gave 100% efficiency or something which was rare. I think that was it. Not sure how they measure it, but it was good and works better than my fireblade (which I must do).

My ER-6F wheels freely with no noises, especially now I've replaced the chain.
